What a horrific team. They look so far behind even the mid table teams.

The scoreline flattered the Pies. Did we even have an I50 in Q3? The ball spent the entire quarter parked inside Ports 50.

I thought there were actually some better signs this week, although the overall performance was below par.
Our defence and pressure was quite strong for long periods against the wind, our mids more or less broke even and were on top for periods, but our forward presence is negligible and the goal-kicking lamentable. We have found a beauty in Cronin and Atkinson is a good pick-up to add some depth in the middle. Our top end talent includes a few key players who are also great servants (Davey, Bonnici and Schleicher and possibly Butler if she can get on the park with any regularity) and Cann, Allen, Sabrina and Rowe (should be a-grade but does little with the ball) and Porter as b-graders but other players who have been on our list for a few seasons have serious deficiencies and Morris-Dalton being out for the year has been a big loss up forward. Very disappointed that Eliza James our former great forward hope seems to have gone backwards, especially in her penetration in her kicking and her wayward goal-kicking, but perhaps this is a post-injury thing that can be worked through. Looking for more growth next year!!!!
