Pre-Match. Pies v. Dockers. All comments.
Re next week. Given we have a dearth of talls up forward, I would consider playing Dean at full forward if we do not use Kreuger. I am not a fan of Johnson. One never knows, Dean could be our next Mihocek. At the very least he could play full back or CHB and Frampton or Moore up forward. One thing is for sure, we need some height up forward with ability to mark.

Fremantle expect No.1 ruckman Sean Darcy to return from injury to bolster their on-ball division in the AFL crunch clash with reigning premiers Collingwood.

We will certainly need an inclusion of marking power up forward. While our defence is playing well, I'd be loathe to move any of Moore or Frampton up forward.
I hope that Checkers will return, which would be fantastic as the cupboard is virtually bare when it comes to other options from our VFL team. Johnson and Krueger seem to be all we have, and neither has any real form to warrant a promotion to the seniors. However, if Checkers is unavailable, then we may nevertheless be forced to turn to one of these, and my preference would be to select Krueger. At least Freddie offers some physicality and can help bring the ball to ground.
While I'd love to see Allan get a call-up, I can't see it happening this week, given that both McCreery and Mitchell are likely to return.
Freo are a good side, with a good coach, and this game will be played on their home turf, so we should go in as underdogs. Luckily, this scenario often brings out the best in our team.
I'm probably a bit harsh on Macrae, but to my mind, even when he gets a few possessions he really doesn't offer much, too often just throwing the ball on his boot.
Ins: Checkers/Krueger, McCreery, Mitchell (sub)
Outs: McInnes, WHE, Macrae
Pies by 7 pts.

Does anyone have any information on will Hoskins hamstring he had scans yesterday so I assume we would know how many week he misses
I think mccreery and checkers are in for this one
I’ll give Mitchell 1 more week off
Like de Goey in the forward line could be our Center half forward we have all wanted
Kind of like to see dean come back and play down back and either Carmichael or Allan get a run
As with sub: I think it will be Harrison or McRae
Pies to win this one in Perth by 20 points

From the possible ins;
McCreery. Very likely to come straight back in.
Mitchell. Will face a fitness test first.
Mihocek. Probably unlikely to recover in time. But would be ideal if he was fit.
Dean. I thought he was a certainty to come in last week. But Frampton is doing a good job and working well with Moore.
Ash. Has been playing in the backline in the VFL. Has an opportunity now with Reef out.
Kreuger. Has now played 3 VFL games since returning from injury. Could he come in for Reef?
Allan. Been 1st emergency the last 2 weeks. With a forced change (WHE), his chance could depend on Mitchells recovery.
DeMattia. 4 VFL games so far. Not sure if ready.
Ryan. Somewhat of a forgotten man.

Of all our injured players only McCreery is likely according to reports
Mitchell is a slight chance but I doubt the club will risk him this week
McCreery return means we have another small forward with speed which isn’t where our issues are we need some height up forward
Checkers would be handy but he’s likely to get another week off (unless he’s 100% we dot risk him IMO)
Krueger offers more than Johnson as he’s physical and takes there best defender at least. He and Cox planted deep would at least get the ball to ground for Hill Schulz McCreery Richard’s etc go to work
We could also have JDG giving us a mid who plays tall
We know we’ve lost WHE and McInnes this week and WHE has been like a swing man lately filling in forward or back or on a wing.
Our midfield will need to be really good to combat there ruck division
I’m hoping Allen gets a run this week he was coaches MVP last weekend and this would be ideal time to give him a run.
Selection will be interesting to say the least

I'm hopeful that DeGoey has no lingering problems from the win over Adelaide, as we will need his scoring power in a forward line that is bereft of key forwards. The loss of Hoskin-Elliot with his unique blend of speed, endurance and marking capability will be hard to cover.
I think the time has come to debut Ed Allan. Doing it in his home state is a bonus.
Cox will need to continue to be played up forward to provide a serious contest for the high ball and if nothing else bring the ball to ground. I have no confidence in either Kreuger or Johnston being able to contribute to the teams scoring capability based on what they are doing in the VFL. To counter the tall forward line of Fremantle I would pick the following team this week;
B: Maynard, Frampton, Dean
HB: Quaynor, Moore, Sidebottom
C: Lipinski, Pendlebury, J.Daicos
HF: Richards, DeGoey, Shultz
F:Hill, Cox, McCreery
R: Cameron, Crisp, N.Daicos
IC: Allan, Sullivan, Harrison, Noble
Sub: Markov
Out: Hoskin-Elliott, McInnes, Macrae
In: Dean, Allan, McCreery
