Happy with the win, but unlike the thread title we didn't punish the Cats. That was our problem, we almost let the Cats out of the bag and off the hook. Thank God we don't have to play the Weagles with scoring like this. 61 points won't win you many games.

It does when you keep the opposition to 55 points.

Started so well but scoreless in the last quarter was a concern.

Darcy...well done, take a bow.

Fantastic win Pies.

So many highlights tonight
- Darcy's intercept marks in the final quarter
- Jamie's marks and goals
- Grundy was a beast
- Pendlebury a brilliant 300th
- Jeremy Howe good as always
- Wills putting his body over the ball all the time soaking up the Cats pressure

Bloody fantastic win by the boys, a fantastic tribute to our champion Captain who was among the best yet again. So stoked we didn’t choke completely, but suddenly we’re just 2 wins away from an incredible flag to put us back in top of the list where we TRULY belong!

But still we have the damn injuries problem which could’ve cost us the chockies tonight. Thank god we’ve earned another break to fix im up!

TWO wins away from history guys! And from REALLY pissing some ppl off.

GO PIES!!

To win with both Degoey and greenwood out for most of the game, who were both important early, was impressvie. I think we would have won by a lot more if they had been there.
Mind you if Geelogn had kicked straighter we could have been in trouble.

Disagree. We didn’t let them off the hook. The Cats were forced to change the way they play because they were being well beaten. They eventually rolled the dice and went down the guts and got away with it a couple times.
We made them change the way they play, that’s hardly letting them back into it. You don’t dominate a good side for four quarters. We controlled them and set the game up early and went on to win, so I dont think you can do much more.

The first half was breathtaking at times and set up the win. Important to remember we were down two for most of the second half so that was incredibly gutsy in the end. Tackling was phenomenal, the pressure immense, and the Captain was his usual self, which is to say, magnificent. In a host of heroes, I thought Howe and Moore were standouts. Controlled the air against a bigger Geelong line and their intercept marking was a massive key. Let’s just hope De God and Levi come up after a week off. So proud of this team.
I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords
