You can dislike her singing, if you want - but, in terms of setting a new standard for others to follow, Wuthering Heights is one of the most important compositions of the second half of the 20th Century.

Luc Besson double header on SBS World Movies last night that was also a Gary Oldman double:

The 5th Element & Leon the Professional

Seen them both before but enjoyed them thoroughly, once again. Oldman is just a genius and just does the best "crazy bad guy".

I watched The Fifth Element for the first time a couple of months ago! Not the kind of film that I usually seek out, but I enjoyed it, and appreciated that (unlike so many of today's action films) it wasn't trying to take itself too seriously.

Elvis

The lead is gorgeous, Hanks should win an Oscar,

Heartbreaking to anyone who loves his voice, like me.

But too long, way toooo long!

We were discussing Elvis at work last week, some of the women could remember their mothers in tears when he died. He did have a good voice and charisma by the bucket load..

Oh I remember howling when he died

I’ve enjoyed other Elvis movies but this one was a bit psychotic at the start, flashbacks and flash forwards, it’s a really sad movie. Not much happiness in it at all.

I don't think I've watched any of those. Only one I've heard of is The Big Steal.

Up in Toc for the weekend, resorted to the DVD collection.

Drive Angry has to be one of the most unrated Nicholas Cage movies. Love it. .

Only channels we could get a decent grip on in Gundagai wasthere commonwealth games or sbs. I watched footy on my iPad then a show came on on sbs, it was about obscure cult movies, you should check it out david, not necessarily your kind of movies, it was interesting though, the reviews of why they tanked then got interest

Watched the comedy TAG.
Apparently based on a true story, I thought it was pretty funny.
