Princes Park is VFL headquarters.John LEWIN wrote:For mine it is at least questionable why this isn't played at Punt Rd. The Port ground may be "VFL Headquarters" but ??? My underlying complaint is that it is an antiquated postage stamp of a ground and it won't suit us.
Only the top 2 teams in the VFL competition earn the right to a home final in week 1. The other two finals and all semis and prelims are played on neutral territory at North Port, as much out of tradition, fairness and TV broadcaster convenience.
This team has no problems playing at North Port, as evidenced by their 37 point dismantling of the home tenant this year...

Just because i can be a pr1ck sometimes, the correct term is "without further Ado"MagpieBat wrote:The club's gone early with their team for this week, so without further adieu...

Adieu is french for goodbye or farewell, which doesn't work.
If it was an attempt at humour, apologies (must try harder)
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Thanks for the tip, Kara. I kind of prefer you as Melissa Benoist, though...

Carlton would probably object to having six games in three weeks on their deck. Would also get crowded in there when they play finals themselves (thankfully, not a situation we're likely to see for some years)...John LEWIN wrote:Thanks MagpieBat, if VFL headquarters is Princes Park why not play there?

Sharenberg aggravated his archilles early in the Melbourne game but stayed on - infact in the post match Bucks mentioned that we had "six or seven" of our players on one leg so all in all it was a great effort.
Not sure if Sharenberg's injury will come up should we make week two of the finals. Frankly, I would be happy if he was "cotton wooled" till next year....
