Given Sundays results, the relegation situation is heaps clearer.
Arsenal v Wigan on Tuesday.
Wigan lose = they are relegated
Wigan draw = they can only catch Sunderland, but the goal difference is way too much and it means 99% that Wigan go down.
Wigan win = all hell brakes loose! Spurs v Sunderland & Wigan v Villa games are massive.
Realistically Wigan probably blew it losing to Swansea last week, if they do win their last 2 games however they will survive. But I think beating Arsenal at the Emirates will be too tough for them. But then again......

Pretty much unless Wigan do the unthinkable and easily beat Arsenal and Villa.

Newcastle are safe, as Wigan still need to play Villa. Even if Wigan beat Arsenal, the result of Wigan v Villa cant relegate Newcastle.
The reason is that both of them can't win! So Newcastle have to finish above one of them. If they draw Wigan can't catch Newc. If Villa win Wigan go down, if Wigan win then they finish above Villa (& maybe Sunderland too) so one of them goes down.

Great to see more discussion on this thread lately :)

Last Night's Results:
Stoke 1-2 Tottenham
Everton 2-0 West Ham
Fulham 1-3 Liverpool
Norwich 4-0 West Brom
QPR 1-2 Newcastle
Sunderland 1-1 Southampton
Man Utd 2-1 Swansea

It looks Roberto Mancini is on the verge of being sacked by the Man City owners and being replaced by Manuel Pellegrini from Malaga.

Also did anyone see the Championship Playoffs last night between Watford and Leicester? It was one of the most dramatic matches in history and I was so happy that my favourite player ever in Gianfranco Zola won in the end for his team.

The Championship never fails to deliver.
The last day was manic with last minute goals everywhere, (dont anyone mention Bolton!) and now it continues into the Playoffs.
Wilfried Zaha (Man U bound) puts Crystal Palace up against Watford into the final.
Don't forget the Championship Play Off Final is the single richest game of football played on the planet. The winner gets millions for making the Premier League and even if they get instantly relegated they get years of 'parachute' funds as well. Deloitte has estimated the "prize" is worth 90 million pounds!!!!
90 million for one game, staggering!
