There are many problems with the wild conclusions Nicksters draw from this, often using the word "free". (Nothing is or was "free".)

At no point will Quaynors name ever be mentioned as part of that trade.
The two events are mutually exclusive. Quaynor is merely a by product or consequence of that trade and nothing more.
What else could it be when both events were around 3 or 4 weeks apart.
the fact that we were getting Quaynor was a big factor in our willingness to give up our first round pick. Not rocket science.
Of course it was a big factor but what isn’t rocket science is that Quaynor was not part of the trade. We traded picks and Beams only with Brisbane. That is a fact.

It’s like saying that Brisbane traded DeGoey to Collingwood for Beams in the first Beams trade. Of course they didn’t trade us DeGoey. They traded us the pick that allowed us to secure DeGoey ( about a month later )
You can play semantics as much you like but unless you can show me that Quaynor was on Brisbane’s 2018 playing list, then there is no way he could be part of that trade. Quaynor was ultimately a consequence of a shuffle of picks which Collingwood were trying to orchestrate, nothing more, nothing less.
All 100% true. Quaynor's only role in the Beams trade was that he made the trade assets far less valuable in our hands than in Brisbane (which likely was an important part of the success of the trade).

I think Brisbane may, depending on how they use the assets they got in that trade, feel like they made out like rockstars in the trade, and we probably dont feel like we gave up very much. its why i always say that you cant look at trade assets in an absolute sense. Its all about relative value (usually trading quality today for potential quality tomorrow, with the only real mistake occurring when teams misjudge WHEN they need the quality). And that is really the only reason trades happen in the first place.

The latest news on Dayne Beams is disturbing to say the least. AFL360 reporting he is in hospital after a problem with pain killing medication.

It actually says an adverse reaction. And I’m going to keep pushing the blue button. Nothing worse than gossiping about someone going through a hard time. Stop alluding to shit guys. Side by bloody side.

Two Quotes:

The Queen in 1995: "Annus horribilus"

Mark Waugh in 2000: "Form is temporary, Class is Permanent"

Expect Dayne to rebound in 2020

I'm not sure the best reading material for him (or anyone else) is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***, though.
