That’s now Rankine and Papley’s scalps in consecutive weeks.

His best game of the year. Low point was against the Lions but improving ever since. Would love him to have nailed that set shot yesterday.

Having a great year, I thought he went into his shell a bit last year and lost a bit of confidence. Very impressed so far, his rebound work has been terrific

Had a bad game against the Lions on Easter Thursday night, but I think that was a case of our defence pressing too high rather than on him individually.

Since then, he's been excellent for us especially with nullifying Rankine and Papley in consecutive weeks.

But he's a bit fumbly...

Just hope he doesn't have to play on Hogan like last year... :?

He probably matches up with Brent Daniels, but maybe Noble will take that matchup instead.

Good thing Greene isn't playing. One less headache to worry about.

Isaac Quaynor watch against the Giants. I watched his matchups closely today and the Giants chose to rotate a number of small forwards through him. Whether it was Lloyd or Daniels early and then Peatling later in the game, it didn’t matter. They didn’t score a goal between any of them today. Obviously Noble and Markov also played their part when those Giants small forwards weren’t matched up against Quaynor.

Isaac Quaynor love in 2023

Post by inxs88 »

Great to see Isaac take his game to the next level this year with yesterday another 18 possessions and 11 marks. I felt like he had plateaued in 2022 insofar as being more lock-down than taking the game on but he has stepped it up this year big time.

His one grab marking and "matrix like" ability to float in the air when leaping is great to watch. Reckon he should also kick the ball in after a goal more than Darcy Moore does.

He’s got the dash back. Had an iffy start to the season, but he’s been terrific the last few weeks.

It’s official, he’s no longer under the radar. Something has clicked since the Bombers game. He’s been superb and he’s back to a point where teammates ( and supporters ) can trust him to win the contest and he’s taken some really big scalps in the last month. You can tell he knows he’s playing good footy because as mentioned, he’s got that confidence back to take the game on once again.
I’m really looking forward to his return bout with Charlie Cameron. Can’t help but think Quaynor will be a better player next time around.

Good call. With N Daicos becoming a mid-fielder sooner than later, I would like to see Isaac be given 75% of the kick-in duties. Darcy sometimes kicks them a bit "thin and flat" when fatigued. Remember Leon Davis in 2011 had something like 167/168 effective kick-ins.

I was one who a watch on him and I am thankful he has come through with the goods.
He has had the reputation of being unbeatable in one on ones and I did see many times his contested wins, but this last game against the wet toast he stood out big time.
As has been for a few games now. His aerial work has gone up a level too.

BTW is it me or is every friggin player getting concussed these days...far out, might be time to wear helmets.

I'd reckon one of the intangibles about McCrae's coaching is his abaility to have players playing the right positions with freedom to express their best talents. He's getting the best from Quaynor. Reminds me of the story Sidebottom spoke about a week or so ago about his coach conversation re-igniting his love of playing and resulting in his best form.
