Good win. Reckon they had our measure in the air and closed our fwds down in the last qtr though we weren’t trying to score.
Maynard best on for mine. SMASHED Ablett.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

EAD Scott, have a sook Danger and suck on this mid digit Selduck, that's what you get when you take on the might of the magpie army in a final that isn't a grand final, you get wrecked!!!!

What a bloody fantastic gutsy, balls to the wall win against the odds, just a perfect Collingwood Victory. Would have liked to bang a couple of goals through in the last but whatever, we won and we move on.

Where do I start with these blokes, all were warriors tonight, such intensity and incredible tackling pressure and composure late in the game. We really did control the game from the outset.

And as for you Mr. "Brownlow" Grundy, you had me at hello. I just love what this leviathan brings every week such a colossus. Pendles, what more can you say about the man, sublime and inspirational tonight. That goal was awesome. Wills & Adams in the guts just kept the ball out of the hands of the Cats mids who love to break away clean, they were immovable objects. Moore & Howe in defense were rock solid and Roughead just shut out porkie pie Dorkins magnificently.

Carry on Woodsmen. You won my heart again.

Okay so I squibbed it and turned off the television once Geelong got within 12pts.

LOL.

I should be feeling nothing but elation after an epic victory but all I feel right now is a strange mix of nervousness for our next game, annoyance that we closed shop with 15 minutes to play that gave Geelong a sniff and deflation that a crucial player for any potential Premiership success in de Goey is seemingly injured again.

P.S-You can now add the suspected ACL injury to Greenwood to the deflation list.

yeah, the injuries have definitely taken some gloss off the win.

Backline was immense.....forward line a bit shaky.

@RileyBev

Suspected ACL for Levi Greenwood, more tightness in Jordan De Goey’s troublesome hamstring. @AFLcomau

Oh my God that final quarter was hard to watch.I thought we were going to lose it there for a while. But it would have been highway robbery if we had lost.We were clearly the better side for most of the night.I hope DeGoey’s injury is only tightness like Darcy Moore”s two weeks ago.I can’t see us winning the flag without him.It was noticiible after he went off just how much trouble we had scoring,so he’s a very important player for us.

Shame on you MM - they never should have lost your heart in the first place!!!

Agree with all you say above. You forgot to mention Billy though - he got us going, along with Stevo and then did a Heater in the last quarter!!!!!! What a magnificent effort!!

Wombat Wills won't be named BOG, but he used his body as a ramming rod, especially in the third quarter. His efforts were just heroic.

To win like that with two players down in the second half was just the Collingwood spirit in its full glory.

Terrible news re: Greenwood. :( Varcoe or Aish to come in, one suspects.
