^ I couldn't see how Hird could remain in his position after Essendon's own internal Switkowski report damned Essendon's management including the footy department (read Hird among others).

Precisely WPT and it staggers me how he received a new contract on the day he was handed a 12 month suspension from the AFL last year in August. That was a premature reaction by Essendon to demonstrate to the general public that they were sticking by their club legend no matter what the circumstances were but in hindsight Essendon will be regretting the move one would reasonably think.

Hird's position as coach of the club has to be untenable even if he's no longer banned from the AFL at the moment.

That ain't no summary, Jezza. That's all 500 paragraphs of the reasons for decision. The judge only read excerpts in Court today.

So what happens from here?

The show cause notices are valid and will need to be addressed by the individual players. What will become of the players and what further information will now come to light? Will one of the player break ranks? Will the EFC be compromised into admitting what they injected their players with? Could the club also be open to legal action from the players.

The EFC and or James Turd could appeal to a higher court being either a full bench hearing of the Federal Court or the High court but they need valid grounds to base the appeal on.

Even if they could mount a case I do not think that the Essendon members would allow the board to commit to pizzing more money against the wall in another court case that on balance they would most probably loose. I cannot see the AFL underwriting it as the AFL have a lot to loose if they succeed.

Do the Essendon members ultimately spill the board and attempt to rid the club of the stigma associated with the actions of Little's gang.

Can James Turd in the circumstances carry on as coach?

Will their sponsors now stick with them. Some are public companies. Will their shareholders or board members accept this? The stench does not seem to be going away.

Stay turned for the next episode of "The Days of James Turd's Nine Lives".

They can appeal and string it out even longer but surely they no realise they're flogging a dead horse. Hird will resign and Bomber will stay surely the board will convince them both that's the best outcome for the club and will probably help them salvage something from the wreckage. Particularly in regard to players potentially walking. I reckon if one player cuts a deal, which is increasingly likely as several are at other clubs then many others could follow suit.

Nobody wants to be labelled a drug cheat but it could mean getting the cronulla treatment and not missing any games...(hopefully at your new club)

Nobody blames the players. Everyone feels that they just did what they were told and after all most of them are kids. And that doesn't change if they plead guilty in my view.

I will never ever forget how arrogant these Essendon knobs were towards us back in the years 99-00 when we were at our lowest ebb in modern history and they were winning flags.

Payback time bitches.
