What the !!!!
I love Beams, very angry with him at the moment.
I'm not buying the official spin on his condition, obviously.

Sad, but true. Another missed gimme goal. And very costly.

We absolutely should have won. All the cards up until today had fallen in our favour. It’s an opportunity lost.

I hope the club realises that we’re good, but not that good. In the cold light of day you have to conclude that for two seasons in a row now we’ve just fallen short. Something needs to be significantly adjusted for us to take the next step.

Having said that JDG could have been all the difference today, and Cox would have been useful after the rain stopped. If Beams overcomes his issues he might be alright for another season or two. Throw in Dunn and Langdon down back and we’re a better side (not that defence was the problem today - we held them to eight goals).

Saying goodbye to Reid, Wells, Varcoe, Goldsack and unfortunately Greenwood could open up the salary cap for some useful trades. I would offer up Treloar - I’m not sure he’s going to get much better to justify what he must be getting.

I don’t get all the angst directed at the likes of Aish, Reid, Brown, Noble etc.
I would be confident if players like Langdon, Greenwood, DeGoey, Beams and Cox were available, then they wouldn’t have been playing this arvo.
They played because we had injuries. That’s why you have a list of 40 in the first place.
As has already been mentioned, the loss is squarely at the feet of the senior players. You don’t rely on depth players to get you across the line in cut throat finals.

For sure mudlark, but where is such a player????
1st round selection that we could trade for.
Yep. Okay. This means we will have to give up some top notch players. Please, not Billy though. He was one of our shining lights today.

Don't forget we still have Coxy. Played with a detached retina (aside from the more recent one) for most of the year.

I'd even give up my much loved Schazz for a full forward of Cameron's ilk  , but I agree that we need to find a forward that will take the pressure away from Checkers. He would be brilliant as a second tall forward, combined with Billy, JDG and Stevo. Have to get it down there to them first of course!

WHE has been disappointing this year. Last year he was one of the guys who got us to a GF, he was playing fantastic footy. This year... just went down a few rungs.

Yes, I think WHE's loss of form this season was significant. But I think there were reasons for it, and we will look forward to a resurgence next year.

I'm not sure what we can do to improve, but ffs, we can't keep rolling up the same midfield group, expecting a different result. Despite their individual reputations, collectively, we have a very ordinary group of midfielders.
This was an issue we discussed all season and no-one seemed to be able come up with an answer. A dominant ruckman and individual players who can be brilliant in their own right - Treloar, Pendles,Tay, Sidey. I thought the addition of Wills as an in and under player really helped.

However, the puzzle still remains to be deciphered.

Watch the game again. Mumford had more clearances than some of our mids.

He’s “stay at the back” rucking was excellent.
You're just making stuff up, now.

Mumford had 3 clearances. Grundy had 10.

The ruck contest was possibly the most one-sided I have ever witnessed - our mids didn't turn up to play but that had absolutely nothing to do with Mumford.
Don’t let the troll suck you in, he ain’t worth it

Grundy was brilliant, maybe he needs to learn to dive ala danger, the push in the back not paid yet so obvious, and that’s the fame. The goal taken off of Mayne, after the ball was back to the centre, that felt flattening, yes we did not handle the conditions, but **** me a little consistency in the umpiring would have been nice! Keefe deliberate out not paid, there us the fame again.

So I hope your happy AwFuL, you got your wish, hopefully the great waste of cheating space gets that umpiring again next week and Richmond get don3 and scream it to the roof tops!

No we did t really play well enough to deserve it, and god knows we will never ever get a fairy tale ending, any other team would have got a free in those last 90 sec, . Yeah I feel robbed and angry and disappointed, but I’m damn proud of this team. My arse will be back at the G round 1, but for now, go **** your self AFL and your inconsistency, on the field at the tribunal. Your bullshit best and fairest, Pat your self on the back, another affiliate gets a grand final, meanwhile your pay day gets jack shit. **** you.
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

Yes - he had little influence on the game today.

But - He has essentially carried the forward line this year, he is a big reason we won many games to get us to this point.

He is a fine key forward. We dont need to throw him away just yet.

He was interviewed on SEN today and explained that when his retinas were examined, the eye specialist found an old retinal tear as well as the one he sustained most recently. He nutted it out with the physios and they identified a game really early in the season where this could have happened. Sorry MTTM, but can't remember exactly which game it was - it was really early on though.

The good news is that although he is still restricted at the moment in regards to physical exertion, he shouldn't miss much of the pre-season, if at all.

Who would've thought eh? There were plenty of detractors slamming his poor form, but the poor bugar probably couldn't even see the ball properly!!!.

Yep. No wonder he couldn't clunk as many marks. Look forward to him next year being able to see the ball!!

Thought the same thing. We missed his cleanliness in the centre. It would have made the difference.
