When we gave it to them they promised they would use it buy some KY Gel.

We lose an A grade player.
We pick up pick 5 which probably
has a 50% chance of getting an A grader
in 3 or 4 years.
We get a couple of B minus players who
have an outside chance of being A graders
for a year or two.
On probability we lose.
From a simple maths point of view it is not great.

Funny how the Buckley fans are pleased with the deal and suggesting we all shut up about it. It's over, no more discussing it!
What do they not want to talk about? Could it be the reason we were on the back foot with these deals before they started??? Could it be the fact that we were compromised because two of our best players (3rd and 4th in THIS year's Copeland) would accept nothing but getting out of Collingwood?
Have we ever lost two Copeland placegetters in one year? As well as last years captain and a premiership inside mid? For any reason other than genuine retirement? No, we haven't. Just 3 years ago we had the best side in the game, now we have about 5 or 6 of those guys left. Of our absolute best players we have Pendles and Clokey left. That is an unheard of attrition rate.
On what planet is Varcoe a reasonable replacement for Harry O'Brien?
That trade is a JOKE and would never be considered if our players were happy. We have effectively copped the same crap deal we absolutely and utterly refused on Friday, going so far as to end negotiations. (actually, how DID this deal get done when we absolutely weren't talking to Brisbane any more? Sign language maybe?) Whatever becomes of Crisp, he is irrelevant. If we had wanted him we could've picked him up with pick 80, so we're left with 5 & 25, exactly what we started with, hang on! We started with 4 and 24! If the Beams deal had never happened who thinks we couldn't have found a way to get Greenwood? Anyone? So in effect it's pick 5 for Dayne Beams. Premiership player, Copeland winner, and our second best player. The Dees managed pick 3 for Frawley! Not in Beamer's league! For Griffen, who is about in beamers league but a lot older, Footscray, who are supposed to be the basket case, get No.1 pick Tom Boyd! With a full season under his belt!!
We got fu**ed. Denying it is exactly what we'd expect of the Blind Brigade who also think we have the best coach in the game. The good news is getting Greenwood, the other two deals are a joke no matter how hard you try to obfuscate by using five clubs to complicate the deal.
Yes we got pick 5, it's a lottery ticket. The original deal, pick 4, would be a whole lot better, almost certainly getting us Brayshaw, the best lottery ticket for us, but the Dogs will probably f**k us again, like they did nominating Moore who they knew they weren't getting, costing us pick 9.

So we've been f**ked by the Lions, fu**ed by the Dogs, & fu**ed by the Demons, Can any of you sit down properly?
Meanwhile Hawthorn got Frawley and O'Rourke for basically pick 19.
Ouch!!!!!!

How come you automatically associate acceptance of the deal with acceptance of Bucks ? One could be happy with Bucks and absolutely miffed with the deal could one not ? I thought the 2 events were mutually exclusive.

I may have only been here for a few weeks but i have never seen you offer up anything that is even vaguely positive. It must be tough to see things the way you do.

Do you know any of the players ? I live next door to one and i can assure you he is happy.

Ah, but if you read what you're commenting on, the point was WHY was it out of our hands?

Anyway, isn't it time for the abuse of Beamer to commence? I'll get you started: He was never any good... If he doesn't wanna stay he can get **ed... We don't need him... and... like that. Wouldn't it be funny if the gun we get for #5 also wanted to leave next year? If there was one thing I remained fairly sanguine about it was that we wouldn't accept Brisbane's initial offer, regardless of what colours they painted it in. We can only hope that Crisp turns out to be a sleeper, (and that if so Buckley gives him an opportunity), and that we somehow get Brayshaw with pick 5, although having lost Griffen it's hard to see the Dogs passing up a big bodied, tall mid, and a chance to fu** us again. Not sure who else we'd want out of what's on offer.
Lets change the subject as this is too depressing. Who do we want if Brayshaw's gone?

I still believe in Buckley, well for another 12 months anyway, but I can't argue with your logic, absolutely spot on.

One thing you did forget to mention is that Geelong fu**ed us too.

On a separate yet related issue, Hine is a great recruiter of unknown talent, whilst Graham Wright is a great recruiter.

Just leave the Pies

I read 89 pages so far of fair weather fans knocking Bucks because it seems is't his fault Beams is going to Brisbane.

Staring a new Football Manager in Rocket Eade is always a gamble although I don't have any proof it played a part in the Beams saga, although there is nothing in the original news cut to suggest any problems other than his Father's health. What I do read is more crap from the old MM fans to blame Bucks for, and to honest, I'm sick of it as are the majority of real Magpie supporters.

If it's so tough for you limp wrist morons, just find another Club because nobody would miss you. If this is what Nick's is supposed to be then there will be no reason for me to visit it again.
