A bit on Santon "He is an attacking full back who can play on both sides and is known for his energetic runs down the flank." He's come through the Internazionale youth system, so I am looking forward to seeing what he can do.

He was handed the Number 3 shirt, didn't get the striker we were chasing I guess they will try again in January.

Nile Ranger seems very close to being either sacked, jailed, or both right now.

Ranger runs well & competes in the air at a half decent level, but his final touch is deplorable - he couldn't score with a fistful of cash in a brothel....... No great loss.

Great to see Mike Ashley has invested the Carrol, Nolan, Enrique, Barton money back into the squad.....  :x :x

Ranger sadly seems to be getting himself into way too much trouble, and he's on the outer. Newcastle have blocked loan moves for him telling clubs they want cash money for him only.

Mike Ashley was too busy stripping at some Chinese Restaurant to care about Newcastle, i am guessing Mike is trying to recoup his debts from taking that bath on wallstreet and at the Casino.

Being a fat guy I have to say no fat guy should ever strip like he did, especially in a venue that serves food. I fear he was dancing to "I'm Too Sexy" by Right Said Fred. If so, that makes it even creepier.

Aston Villa away this weekend. We are still unbeaten in the EPL this season and have recorded three clean sheets in our first four league games but we seriously need to score some more goals. This will be a very difficult game as we have had a poor record @ Villa Park in recent seasons (including being relegated there!). Perhaps the one stat that makes interesting reading is that Alex McLeish has never won against Newcastle in five previous attempts as a manager. But I'd still gladly take a draw.

Toon @ Villa Park - last 20:
2010/11 lost 0-1
2008/09 lost 0-1
2007/08 lost 1-4 Owen
2006/07 lost 0-2
2005/06 won 2-1 Ameobi, N'Zogbia
2004/05 lost 2-4 Kluivert, O'Brien
2003/04 drew 0-0
2002/03 won 1-0 Shearer
2001/02 drew 1-1 Shearer
2000/01 drew 1-1 Solano
2000/01 lost 1-0 (FAC)
1999/00 won 1-0 Ferguson
1998/99 lost 0-1
1997/98 won 1-0 Batty
1996/97 drew 2-2 Shearer, Clark
1995/96 drew 1-1 Ferdinand
1994/95 won 2-0 Lee, Cole
1993/94 won 2-0 Allen (pen), Cole
1988/89 lost 1-3 Mirandinha (pen)
1986/87 lost 0-2

Davide Santon might be missing for a few weeks with a knee injury. Pardew says 4 weeks, but sounds like it might be 8.

A draw would be good, I hope we attack better, Lovenkrands has come out and told fans to have faith in the strikers.

^I'll have more faith in the strikers if Lovenkrands doesn't play.

I have no faith in Shola either, sometimes he looks good, sometimes he looks shocking. Leon Best hasn't been too bad this season, Demba Ba has started to look decent.

The others I am worried about.

I'd rather see Sammy Ameobi play than Shola. Demba Ba looked impressive in his time @ West Ham. I think he'll produce the goods for the Toon but he needs a decent strike partner. Something we don't really have.

Will take an away point against anyone at the moment........

^^I like Shola Ameobi. At least he is an effort player who gives his all, final touch lacks class at times, but at least he puts himself in good positions. Hopefully he & Ba can strike up a mid to long term relationship, with Best as a capable 3rd option.

Over 2,000 Newcastle United fans have made the midweek trip to the City Ground and there are only 10,000 in the stadium. Great turnout by the Toon Army.

Robbie Findley finds the back of the net with a goal from a long way out to the bottom right corner of the goal.
