Now the Ryan Griffen bombshell has detonated lets take a look at him compared to Beamer.

Ryan Griffen, 28yo.
2014 season average: 23 disposals, 5 tackles, 0.5 goals.

Dayne Beams, 24yo.
2014 season average: 27 disposals, 5 tackles, 1.2 goals.

Yet GWS are reportedly willing to give up picks 4 and 7 for Griffen as opposed to Brisbane offering us 5 and 25. This shows what a joke the Brisbane offer is given Griffen's market value.

Stick to your guns Pies.

Unfortunately you can give all the advice you want but if your client doesn't listen what can you do.

If only we could get Beams to GWS. They would offer pick 4+7 in a heartbeat. Bet that might get Adelaide's attention.

Actually, I agree with you for once. As long as Beams says he'll play on next year if no deal can be made there isn't that much to lose, he'd only be a restricted FA next year, no? He won't opt to sit the year out, especially if he gets a well-deserved raise from the club. After that he might decide to stay on, stranger things have happened, and picks 5 & 25 are really not enough. pick 25 is a complete crap shoot (although we have the Hines advantage) and pick 5 might end up as pick 10 if more players leave StKilda, GWS, or Melbourne. What pisses me right off is how the F**k did Hawthorn get Jonno O'Rourke for pick 19!? That's idiotic! They finished on top and already have 2 top players signed up! Whats the point of having a bottom-up draft if that crap goes on!?

While it may serve the Pies purposes to make this comparison, it does not seem equitable to select Griffen's 2014 year, one riddled by back injuries incl pre-season and compare to Beams. I am sure his output in 2013 was far superior to Beams, who managed a handful of games only due to injury too.

In addition, Griffen was selected as a club captain, not something that Beams track record off the field would support.
