Scientific testing? On a bowling action? Mmmmmmmm...you will not get an argument from me about this guys action, I agree with you. But to say science can be applied to the action is wrong. It always comes down to opinion, and thats a huge problem.
Science can be appied to fluid samples. There's your difference between the two cases.

-Craig

BTW, it was an absolute disgrace that the cricket authorities did not back up umpire Hair. Now, no umpire can ever feel safe "calling" a bowler.

Black_White, YES, Scientific testing on Murali's bowling action has been completed three times. If still interested, please follow this link for one of them.

How can you appeal stupidity? "Ignorance is NO EXCUSE" Shane.

I feel sorry for him and his family mostly his family, at the end of the day he will not play for Australia again. 12 months out of any Sport at his Age is very hard to come back too.

Lets hope the Aussie Cricketers win the world cup as I believe if we don't Shane Keith Warne will be held to blame.

It will be not so bad for Shane as I believe he will still be in the Media, apparently and this is only a Rumour 2 Newspapers have approached his manager for him to write for them Exclusively. Channel 9 also wants him in the commentary box as well.

So one door closes another one opens.

One thing is the Poms will be breathing a sigh of relief.

I also feel Shane will help Craig White who plays for Victoria become an even better Leg Spin Baller if he is allowed too. But who says Craig and Warney cannot Practice together at some Suburban Ground.

As the Scared Little Weird Guys sang last week, "Sex & Drugs & Leg Spin Ball is all that Warney Needs".

I think he is lucky that all he got was one year. IMHO it should be a life ban. Warne took the banned substance (regardless who gave it to him Image ), got caught and therefore, should suffer the consequences.

As a nation we jumped up and down crying drug cheats when the Chinese swimmers came out looking like Phar Lap, talk about double standards when one of our own does it.

I used to work in a Pharmacy, all the professional athletes who used to visit it had a credit card sized reference that they handed us if they needed some medication for us to check that it was not a banned substance.

Even if they were coming in for aspirin or panadol for a headache they would give us this card and ask us to check that the substance that they were about to buy wasn't banned. What's the bet Warney has been given one of these cards or maybe even carries one around in his wallet??? Can't help but wonder about that.

A life ban? He may have taken a banned substance but it was not a performance enhancer and I believe him that he did not take a performance enhancer. The Chinese swimmers are a differant kettle of fish, they were definitely on performance enhancing drugs.

What Warney had taken can mask performance enhancing drugs.

Black_White: Sorry, I can't follow your logic!
Why the hell do we have a cricket forum on this board if a story about a cricketer doesn't belong there?

The ACB has delt with this the totally wrong way in my way of thinking!! The case should of been held the day after they had the results from the B test with the ACB and the Shane Warne and his lawyers knowing the result and kept the results quite until the case was held!!!

12 months is a soft punishment for a drug cheat.....

But didn't sam Riley get off for a similiar incident...wasn't her mother...but her coach?
