Links in sigs

Post by Joel »

Hi,

Just a question. Have links in sigs been disabled?

Some of us are lucky to even have sigs Joel.
Be grateful.

When I created my new sig, I was able to include them as links, but when I went back into my profile, I was informed that sigs with url tags were no longer permitted.

I'm not expecting a reason why, just like I'm still waiting to find out how and why I got spammed no so long ago (I was informed by a mod that I would have an answer 'in a couple of days' - it's been about two weeks since I reported it!).

Not even gonna bother waiting any longer why I had posts deleted recently.

I was just wondering because I have a sponsor of our tipping comp in my sign, and not as many people are going to copy and paste and url from a sig, as you would from people just clicking on the link.

Tess, clicking on a link is not going to add to bandwith.

I'm not having a go at anyone, I just thought I would ask why it has been disabled.

....I don't want to have it everytime.

Sorry Joel, links in sigs got turned off during an upgrade the other day. I hadn't realised at the time, but have re-enabled them now.

Dale, no need to be bitter and twisted - that delay is also down to me. The mods dealt with the issue immediately and that person is not able to 'spam' anyone using the system anymore - credit where credit is due please. The mods also asked me to check out why someone was able to send you PMs while you had them on 'No Contact' a couple of weeks ago. There is a bug in the contact system that allows someone to add you to their 'mates' list even though you have them on 'no contact'. The system then generates an automatic system email (not a PM) to notify you - they are not able to send PMs or emails with a personal message. I haven't had time to address the issue yet and won't have for a while. It's only ever happened once in the history of the board and is not high on my priority list.
