Maybe they are hoping another club drafts him and then they don't have to pay his contract for next year? Sounds like the same thing with Markov

I'd prefer Markov to Johnson if I had to choose one or the other.

With Membrey about to join the club, I think that Johnson will be deemed surplus to requirements and only be there in an emergency situation.

If we can get Ash motivated this season, anything could happen. Hopefully he can find that 1% extra he needs to fulfill his potential.
