Welcome Dan, no pressure, we've gone all in on winning a flag next year and need you to produce a 2025 up to the level of the last 2 years if we're to have a chance.
Hopefully you, Perryman and Crisp rotating between HBF and midfield cause mayhem to the opposition.
Leppa, you now have 24 hours to pull a miracle out of your arse and get us back into this draft.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Carlton’s list is stacked with 1st round picks, where has that gotten them?

I'm happy because we never had a high pick anyway and so by the time we got to pick a player all the cream would have been gone. This way we are guaranteed an AA who can also do serious minutes in the midfield. I think it's a big win for us.
But we're going to need a big year up forward from Dan McStay and Checkers.

No, and it wouldn't shock me if they turned around and said "computer says nooooo...."
Re: Welcome to Collingwood - Dan Houston
Still overs for mine but he’s a quality player.
One thing is for certain, if he does play at HB and that’s very likely, then either one of Perryman or Quaynor isn’t. There’s a lot of flexibility in this side but right now, it’s all around the flanks.
We’re now pretty well done and dusted with trades and pick swaps cause we have nothing more to give up. Time to turn our attention to delisted free agency which starts shortly.

Exactamundo. The draft is a lottery. You know how many number one picks have become real superstars? Very few. Swanny was drafted in the 60s wasn't he and that worked out well. Pendles has easily been the best player in his draft year and he was only pick 5. Marc Murphy for Carlton was the #1 (priority pick) - ha ha. We got Daisy Thomas at #2 (priority pick) and that was okay, but he was no Pendles. Xavier Ellis was #3 - Ha ha ha ha.think positive wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 4:32 pm wooohooo! giving away first rounder means nothing if you finish top 4! yeah baby!!
Josh Kennedy went to the Blues at #4 and he turned out okay for the Wet Toast.
Now see if you remember any of these names from the first 15 picks of the 2005 draft:
Beau Dowler anyone?
Jarrod Oakley-Nicholls????
Marcus Drum??????
Travis Varcoe went at #15.
No the draft is like Tattslotto. For every winner there are plenty of losers.
Re: Welcome to Collingwood - Dan Houston
It’s not an exceptional draft.
The experts() say it every year.
We need Houston & Perryman not more kids for the VFL.

TRADE GRADE: WHO WON THE MEGA DEAL?
Collingwood: A-
The big winner of this one. The Pies get a dual All-Australian, for a nine-gamer (Richards) and a defender who wanted to leave (Noble).
The future first stings but Collingwood is clearly not interested in draft picks. The Pies got the best player in the deal and didn’t really give up that much for it. That’s a win.
Now they have to make sure that 2025 first-rounder doesn’t come back to haunt them.
