That's not so much a "slogan" as "abuse".

Apparently some report on the gender pay gap came out a day or 2 ago and seems to have died on the vine. Anyone read it?

It was never on a vine. It was dead before it was released.

Two female workers, talking

“ my male colleague, earns 20% more a week than me”

2nd female

“ that’s outrageous, what are you going to do about it”

1st female

“ You won’t believe it, management say, if I want the same money, I need to step up from 4 days a week to 5 “

The most laughable thing about the recent rant was that QANTAS have the biggest 'gender pay gap'... gee, who'd have thought, pilots get paid more than hosties?!?

Kel works for the education department - males and females at the same level, get paid the same rate.

Sharnee works at Footlocker - males & females are paid the same rate.

I work in mining - females are placed in roles they are not competent in and are paid more than males. A female, doing the same job as a man will, more times than not, be paid more than a male, regardless of experience or ability.
Most roles in middle and upper management are now being filled by a female majority.

The so called 'gender pay gap' is the biggest con of the 21st century.

It's all about how you do the maths. I've downloaded the report but haven't analysed it yet, but if they are just doing average weekly earning male v female then it's fundamentally flawed.

Using airlines as 1 example, most pilots are male and they earn big $. Most baggies handlers are male and they get good coin, ditto maintenance staff. The lower paid jobs are in customer service which are mostly female. At no point do women get paid less than men on an hourly rate in the same job.

My job the pay rates are the same, male, female or alien. The only difference is it’s a lot easier to get a job if you’re female.

No one on the known planet with an economics degree from anywhere but Trump University is going to make the errors being discussed here. You have to distinguish internet talk and click bait from proper research.

This reminds me of global warming discussions 20 years ago, with people who couldn't do the maths to get into a first year climate science course at the worst university in an impoverished war-torn nation telling scientists at NASA with postdoctoral degrees from Stanford University about sun spots.

Do a Google search using a term like "gender pay gap econometrics" and find proper papers from proper economists at respectable organisations. There are whole discussions going back two decades on getting the methodology right.
In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

That's why the report got no airtime. Even the most stupid of people could see the entire method was flawed.
