From the AFL site today "The AFL will bring the Deadline Day trade window forward by an hour to 2pm AEDT""[/quote]
Hmmm interesting I wonder if there is a deal in the works for one of the AFL's darlings that would be jeopardized by the 3pm slot.

This was the rationale given for this - It was originally scheduled for 3pm, but the extra hour will give clubs and officials some extra breathing room with a flurry of late deals expected.

Apart from trade radio ad revenue, what is the benefit of not announcing trades until 2??
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

Is it likely at this point that any other players come our way?

Ok got money and a few picks for a key defender now, add Lycett for a playing/coaching role as backup and done.

Got pick 33 now. If GC take 4 academy kids before this, it is still effectively pick 33. Those boys were always going to GC, and therefore does not affect anyone we were going for

True enough and understandable when you consider our history. We are nearly always in contention for the finals until at least very late. Most finals played, most GF's played.
As supporters we always get a good run for our membership dollars but it has a price when we get to the draft.

Yeah garbage ones, big bag of them, not that any of that would change the fact he's had very little access to high picks given we are constantly there abouts and he's found rippers with late picks.
