I was always of the thought that North would come out firing .It's always EVERYONES grand Final playing Collingwood. We would normally have conceded that game but we showed that we are a very different package this year. I just have to say, even though we won, that this was quite possibly the very worst display of biased umpiring against Collingwood, that I have ever seen and I've been a Collingwood supporter for 69 years. The 2 "Blocking" frees against Cox were mind boggling and it cost us 2 goals. If anything, they should both have been Collingwood free kicks . John Noble ,in the second Qtr was tunnelled over the boundary line, dangerously, I thought and a blatant but not paid free kick every day of the week. Oliver Henry in the last Qtr went for the mark and was blatantly dragged off the ball and even the commentators conceded it should have been a free. I could write a book on it today and the fans were rightly hostile towards them.
But we got the 4 points and move into 5th pot.We could quite easily finish top 4. I was happy with Carmichaels game.He will definitely improve on todays effort. He started slowly in the VFL but quickly started getting better every week. Great win and we move on to Adelaide with hopefully Moore back and DeGoey.
And I will concede that McCreery adds a lot to the team.

We were due for a loss.
This is like a loss to wake up and fire up the players.

Go pies!

You would have preferred a loss I'm assuming?? The reality is we got pantsed for 3/4s, gave them a near 5 goal start and got up to win. I'll take that.

Wonderful victory. The first three quarters were forgettable. But to come out in that last quarter and still find a way to win, was a sign of mental courage and belief that we should not underestimate.
Hope Tay is OK.

Was hoping we could get a nice percentage booster and ended up being relieved just to see us win! Although we were playing the worst side in the comp we still showed a lot of character to come back from 26 points down at 3QT. Seven wins on the trot.

Do you watch any games??

Great comeback win! Says a lot about this team. We would usually lose these games. Not any more. We are a game off top spot.
Highlights - McCreery tackles, N Daics goal, Sidey sealer!!
Go Pies!

PS- Umpires were terrible! One sided garbage that needs to be questioned by the club

In 1990 we played Fitzroy who were bottom of the ladder, and the Lions lead by 19 points at 3/4 time.

We played poorly all day but turned it on in the last quarter to take the win.

Playing poorly and winning can be a good sign, the sign of a good team.

We have our weaknesses, and Moore was missed today. Our key defensive stocks were lacking, for North McKay had a day out.

Goldstein may or may not have had the same influence against Grundy.

Centre clearances are a problem, JDG can exert influence in the centre square.

We need more than Mihocek and a young Ollie Henry up forward, both are second or third key forwards.

As many have said for quite a few teams in the second half of the season, beating teams that are possibly competing for a finals berth is their GF.

Food for thought, what would our team today have done with McStay, Hill and possibly Toranto there.

We won, have to be happy with that, it was a danger game, and as has been the results for almost all of the the season, we won but not by much.

Collingwood's memberships might be down in 2023 because we all died of heart attacks in 2022.

GO PIES
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

Stoked that we got away with the win. Sobering that when I do the Ladder predictor I have us missing out with 14 wins.

We all would have taken 14/8 at the start of the season and to do that and miss the finals would be heartbreaking

But Jesus:
- Ginnivan Rule: All AFL players except Ginnivan shall receive a free kick for having their head taken off. Jason Dunstall loving it.
- Cox Rule: Cox shall not under any circumstances receive a free kick
-
You do know that Ginnivan has received 18 high tackle free this year. The most in the league.

Well 90% of that was a steaming pile of barkers eggs. Very lucky to get the points. Casual Observations:

* B Mihocek: should face a leading teams "360" feedback as to why he failed to play in front of B McKay once on 10 beaten occasions.

* B McCreery: he scared me from living room, hence was the ferocity of his tackling. He certainly has found running speed I thought he never had.

* Henry: awful, simply awful. Drink two red bulls before each match and wake up son.

* Tactics: we all saw the idiocy of our clearances today and L.D.U from the Roos was granted more space than Ronny Biggs.

* D Cameron: valuable (again)

* Steele and Pendles: stood up when mattered

* Ginnivan: not fit enough. For the 8th time this year, goalless after quarter time and has no plan B.

* Jamie: great but be more selfish and take those 2 snaps next time

* The Daics brothers: we are truly blessed to have another era with this surname

* Full Back: we again got monstered by the Power forward. Gee we need a 200cm monster fullback with pace

Don't underestimate the toll of last Saturday's win in the Gold Coast wet on our sluggishness today.
I love the Pies, hate Carlscum
