Run Wild IPA is fresh number with a bit of hoppy bite that lingers a moment, which is unusual for alco-free beers. Here it is in Oz at Dan Murphy's:

12th of Feb it's 4 years alcohol free for me.
The surgeon was very happy when I told him I didn't drink. Makes a massive difference to anaesthesia, surgery and recovery. Alcohol is dead to me.

Drinking alcohol can have a negative effect on different types of surgery. Alcohol has been linked to a number of specific complications after surgery, including:

infections
wound healing and complications
heart and lung problems
excessive bleeding
You’re also more likely to have a longer stay in hospital. If you drink heavily before your surgery, you may have a higher risk of being admitted to intensive care too.

I think you deserve on going congratulations and encouragement for this monumental achievement Skids. Nothing to be taken lightly, it’s a very hard thing to pull off and harder to continue abstinence. Well done.

The cost of Zero Free beer is farcical. My friend likes Corona ones and I've tried it and yes it's OK but the price is BS. The retailers are taking the P155.

Good onya mate, but I'll take your share.

Few years back when I had abdominal surgery to repair some umbilical hernias, they gave me a glass of red with dinner that night and found another one for me when I asked nicely. I did 28 days with no alcohol shortly after that on a diet program and while I was very happy to get through that without DT's, as soon as the 28 days were up I inhaled a few cans and a bottle of red.

On a side note, regarding the wine I had in hospital, my new neighbour produces the "wine in a glass" that you get in hospitals and some sporting events. Single serve of wine in a plastic glass with a foil lid. It's not Grange but it's quite drinkable.

It's actually not too bad. A box of the Peroni zeros is $44. That'll last me at least one week on R n R. I only have 2 or 3 on a warm day if I'm having a BBQ, a dip in the pool or after some work around the house.
At under $2 a stubbie, you really can't complain.

The big difference for me is that when I was on the piss, I'd never have just 2 or 3. I'm literally saving hundreds of dollars, if not more a month since I quit.

The saying - You don't realize you have a drinking problem until you stop, is so true.
My youngest daughter has a hundred saved videos of me doing stupid shit when I was pissed, it's absolutely cringeworthy. I wish I'd never let the poison pass my lips, I would have retired at 40. It's a terrible plight on the nation, especially the way it's glamourized and people 'boast' about their drunken antics.... maybe I'm just getting old.

My grandkids have never had alcohol around them and I'm so happy about that.

Doc - 30 beers per week?! That is too much!

Lol, my doc doesn't ask how much I drink, she relies on the annual set of bloods.

Milkthistle capsules are the bomb. 1 a day. A while back my liver was a tad untidy so I went to 2 a day for a month and back to normal.

^Does the milk thistle make a genuine difference? My liver bloods are good, but I do worry because I take a battery of tablets for various conditions.

I know when I used to breed parrots as a kid that they swear by them! Literally, in the case of my pet parrots that could talk!

Tried the Guiness 0.0 and whilst it's been about 5 years since I drank a 'real' one, it tasted very similar. Not bad at all.

^Yep, I was impressed, too. I can't overdo it as the gluten bloats me and makes me fart like a trooper, but I thought they did a great job of preserving the core taste and creaminess.
