He can count unfortunately
Or at least his agent can; too bad he doesn't keep count of how many of his taps go nowhere, and his disposals which seem to go to the opposition way too often.

I have been keeping partial count... Sadly, the results are ugly!

The scary question is whether Collingwood's coaches are... I wish I were confident they are.

The publicly available stats are really biased towards ruckmen. Maybe the AFL wanted it that way. (They own half of the stats company.) They don't give clanger hit outs, which may be the most important hit out stat of all. They do give "hit outs to advantage". That name sounds like a much bigger achievement than they are. Even senior coaches don't realize how little HTA means.

I've just got back from a nice long full moon walk and I have a fairly clear head now that I have purged myself of that putrid bucket of vomit I witnessed today. I an firmly not in the Mayne camp and although I wish him well,I very glad to see the back of him.He should have retired the game he announced he was retiring. He deprived a youngster of 3 games. Hopefully we also never see Madgen or Thomas in a Collingwood jumper again and the way Sidebottom played today,I think you could put a fork in him .Perhaps,as someone reported, we could package him and Pendles up and get some youngsters from the Gold Coast for them. King would do. I also think we should seriously look at getting BOTH Lynch and Talia from the Crows and build the kids around them. They've both got at least 2 years in them. Can't hurt if we're not going to play Keane or Tohill or Max Lynch for that matter. We seriously need someone to teach them ALL how to hit a target. That was just Putrid today. And is there anyone in our team that we could give the footy to and say, with confidence, that they WILL kick a goal?? And please, no one tell me they want Harvey to be the coach going forward. Anyone who thinks 2 and 7 is a reasonable return is totally deluded. That's me done for 2021. Hopefully it can only get better from here.

Pendles is a champion of the club. Amazing footballer. However, at 34 (in January) he should be given rolling 12-month contracts from here on.
If he wants a better deal and more money, by all means he should take the offers elsewhere. We have done the right thing by him all those years and have rewarded him appropriately. He should stick around for a season or two and help the youth while we rebuilt but if he feels he should earn more elsewhere, thanks Pendles and good luck mate. You’ll always be a champ and a hero to us but we can’t give you 2-3 year extensions from here on. The club is always bigger than any player.

Anyhoo, overall scoring shots were 22/19 in their favour.
That's hardly a disaster against a top eight side, minus only Tippa.

How many goals were gifted to them via ineptitude from putrid disposal standard, which only got worse after 2018? This is ALL on Buckley, Harvey and Sanderson - end of argument.
The next coaches priority should be to address that problem immediately; it is cancerous through the list.

We got kicked off the park ONCE in 2021; last week, after we got off a plane ride hours earlier. That's a lot better than many teams who finished above us.

When the Captain goes on TV and says he'd sign elsewhere if offered a better deal, what do you expect?

Side-by-side are words only.
Did that really happen? Fair play if so, but I didn't see that news item

No it did not.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

Well said Dave. Finishing last would have been much worse for morale , however we could have at least got great draft priority picks.
I love this club and I hold anyone in contempt who does not think it is worth fighting for.

He’s arguably in the best 5 players we’ve ever had (ok let’s say top 10 to stop arguments)
If he has signed elsewhere because we didn’t offer him any sort of deal or a deal that was embarrassing then my membership card can be stuck up the a$$ of whoever made this decision
I don’t care what our salary cap issues are you don’t treat club champions like that
r
Pendles not going anywhere.
