Mysterious Island.
I may have mentioned it before, I was flicking through the online FTA TV guide up in Toc, and found that.
Inspired by Jules Verne, they even find Captain Nemo's tomb and the Nautilus which they recharge it's batteries using a harpoon and giant electric eel.
Bit of fun.

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Thelma & Louise (1991)
Starring Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon. And introducing Brad Pitt.....
You all know this one. First time I'd really watched it since it was first released and I wouldn't have know what was going on. I thought it was actually really sad. Loved the part where they blew up that guys truck. (They should have shot him tho). A very original story at the time.

Oh man, I cant handle it. Have seen A Dogs Purpose but not the sequel. Could hardly sit thru A Dogs Journey (not related) either.think positive wrote:A Dogs Journey - i avoided A dogs purpose, oh god, it come under comedy, ive only ever cried that hard once before, hachi!!! geezus, and 2 of the dogs were called Max and molly, My Max gave me Molly, oh man, you know when you need a good howl? forget the 2018 grand final, watch this!!!fricken hell, i dont think ill ever recover!
Maybe I'll watch Journey some day.
Reminds me of the time my GF's sister rented a movie (remember going to the video store...) and the sticker said "comedy" and "family" on the cover. The film was called "Year of the Dog". All the girls were crying 5 mins in whilst all the guys were holding it in. Comedy? I think we were expecting Beethoven and got... well... something different.

Hunt for The Wilderpeople
Had heard good things about this one but finally saw it recently and it's a ripper. Set in stunning NZ countryside, Sam Neil and some kid go on the run with child services and the cops on their trail. Funny and sweet without being too cheesy. Great option for any age.

Kinky Boots (2005)
We saw the stage show when we lived in London. Decided to watch the film, which came first. It was ok. GF loved it. Has that lower budget British vibe to it, which I like.
The Notebook (2004)
Far out, you can tell I didnt pick the films this week. Anyway, I got sucked in when he went to war and wanted to see what happened when he got back. I didnt think it was too bad until the ending which was just bloody stupid. Rachel McAdams is very pretty and Ryan Gosling looks like Tom Phillips.
Apparently Britney Spears was considered for the lead role. Far out that would have been a complete disaster.
Finding Steve McQueen (2019)
A heist film based on a true story, about a gang planning to steal millions of dollars from Richard Nixon's illegal slush fund. It was good without being great. Loved all the old movie references in it.
A Good Marriage (2014)
A thriller thats based on the Stephen King novel. Usually thats a recipe for a great film. But not this time. It was very slow and kind of boring and predictable. Anthony LaPaglia is in it, but I dont think he quite hits the mark. It's not scary or suspenseful in any way.
