He's just injured. He thrashed them in the ruck at the stoppages when he was on the ground in the second half.

Of course he is injured. For two entire seasons with deep finals campaigns he rucked virtually unchanged all year. Now we're playing 80% of normal game time and he's coming off a two-week break. If he wasn't injured, he'd just be monstering them for the entire game.
