Big news with JDG back up forward.
They are a different side with him there.
Treloar a welcome inclusion.
They have missed his run and creativity.
Need to add Sier to the mix and
pray he can run the game out.
Lots of fumbles throughout.
They will iron that out.
Backline stood up again.
Crisp saved their bacon with the Heater like goal save
on 3q time and one of his own
to seal the game.
Can Cox go on from there against the best
defences? At least he has put his hand
up after all looked lost for him mid year.
You just never know from here. It could
be all over in a heart beat or they could
get on a roll and go all the way.
Very pleasing to see they will play finals again.
Go pies!

Good win in the end. But let's be honest for a moment... we were playing a young side coming off a five day break with three players on the bench. Yes they had heart and talent. That is a game we HAD to win....for probably two and a bit quaters we were again...out played and thrashed out of the middle.
Up against a serious contender in Port i don't think we have the ability. Far too much sloppy ball use still and let's be honest our goal scoring is woeful. We have two players who can kick goals. One of whom in DeGoey is 50/50 at set shots.
Love the heart tonight...but as I see it we will be out of our depth next week and in the finals

They scragged, scratched, pulled, held and barreled our boys tonight and got away with way to much dirty stuff! But we were tougher for longer and fairer in the contest.
Have we not been told about the holding the ball rule as well? We seem to not get those calls at critical times a nd I don't understand why. Is it because the ruling is different to what we use to know it as? **** it's driving me mad.
Too many good players to mention tonight. It looked like they were playing on a ice rink and we got better when it got harder. That was a satisfying win. A +

no second chances
What I found pleasing was Cox actually marking forward of the pack contest and not in middle pack contest
When he did he could get those big limbs up with less the usual arm chop because of it
Oh and the bounce and goal. He gets the Gabba(aka Gableich) trophy

I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right
pies v suns
Oh my God.. Get this young fellow to kick out from the backline. I love <Maynard but honestly tonight he GAVE the suns 2 GOALS..Every week we give the opposition 2 or 3 goals from kicking out of defence..stui magpie wrote:Just want to throw in some love for IQ. The kid is so cool under pressure, doesn't rush and generally has great disposal.
IQ s kicking is sublime for such a young player in a defensive pressure position..

What’s there to post? Struggled against an average team with our strongest team all year (on paper) on the park. Only Howe and Steele missing and we dished you the same junk. Same old same old, without JDG we stink, hence why we couldn’t make the GF last season. Grundy needs a break next week, no matter what the stakes are to avoid WC in Perth.
If it all clicks, we could scare some teams, but the style of play is horrific for the most part. The skills are borderline deplorable too. On a dewy Gabba deck, we have looked terrible all season.
Fingers crossed they can win a final.
