Clearly he is still our best player..........Not sure this is a good thing going into 2021.

He might have the 3 votes, though. It was a towering display of leadership by example from him.

And a throw, don't forget...

Well the maggots saw that one; the myriad of Brisbane chucks didn't get penalised.

It'd be nice if Tony Shaw was able to be at the game where the record is broken. We might have to wait until things are back to normal to see that tho.

Coaches both rated him our best in the Brisbane game. He should get Brownlow votes for that effort.

Pendlebury is similar to Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of being a professional athlete who can keep his body in tip-top shape.

Could Honestly see Pendles making it to 400, last year or two with a role in the forward line.

Absolutely sucks we can’t have 80,000 at the MCG for Pendles.

Yeah. I'm shattered that we wont be able to be there for this.

I'd prepared trips interstate before covid hit, in the case that it was to fall during our trip to Sydney in the original fixture.

Pendles and Bucks are the most consistently great players we've ever had.

^ Not much comparison between the two, really.

We didn't know at the time but Bucks was about done as a consistent star player at the end of 2003 (after playing 208 games for us). He played 4 more seasons. Although he played the occasional great game in that time, he was beset with injuries and was more the icing than the cake. Thus, Bucks only polled a further 14 Brownlow votes across those last 4 seasons. Pendles is still far and away our best midfield player and, since he reached his 208th game for us, he's polled a further 63 Brownlow votes (and will poll more this year). Certainly Bucks won more Copelands but there were fewer great players in any of his teams (including the ones that made Grand Finals).

On any fair analysis, Pendlebury has played 12 consecutive seasons (and counting) as our brightest star, whereas Buckley played 8. No doubt at all that Pendles is miles ahead for consistency.

All in all, Pendles has been Collingwood's consistently best player of the past 50 years. I cannot remember any Collingwood player after their 200th game being the out and out star in the engine-room that Pendlebury remains.

Congrats to Pendles on equalling Tony Shaw's record.

It's a shame we couldn't see him do it in person down in Melbourne.

So who's going to carry Pendles off next week?

H. Shaw would have been fitting. He's obviously not there. Sidebottom as the VC and his partner in crime would be fitting. He's not going to be there.

Maybe Buckley does it??

Buckley and Josh Daicos. That would be amazing.

Geez I wish Tony Shaw was able to go up there for it. And I wish I would be able to witness it too. I'm always tracking these things and I'll be stuck at home.
