JT looks a 1000% better when crumbing to the feet of Cox, there is a level of understanding there that I certainly didn't realise until today.

So pleased that someone picked that up Ronnie!! It goes a long way to explaining why JT was having such a lack lustre season before now. He seems to grow in confidence when a switched on Coxy is around, because he must know that he's got a great chance to crumb it close to goal.
Mason continued on from his last quarter last week, when he had a go at everything and didn't allow himself to be out-marked. When he's playing like that, he's so valuable to our forward line function.

Huge game from Adams in the second half. Just wouldn’t be a Collingwood win without injuries though, Mayne’s in hospital most likely fractured cheek/jaw.

Very sad to hear that about Mayne. No, he's not a flashy player, but he bravely gives his absolute all and leads by example in that way.

It was a gutsy win considering we had about two thirds of our midfield out.I really thought they would over run us in the last quarter,yet we killed them in the end.It was a great all round effort from all of the boys who really did their jumper proud today,

Elliot's first half was HUGE!

IQ provides the run and speed we need out of the backline. And he runs straight.....at the moment......until his natural instincts are coached out of him......and he starts going sideways by foot and backwards by hand.

Josh Thomas, as many have already said, played his best game for over a year, and Daicos his most important contribution to date.

Bwuuuuce claimed this game was in effect an elimination final, and that might have been the only intelligent thing that came out of his mouth all day.

Thought Stevo was equal parts hero/villain today; should have nailed those shots on goal, as they were all very getable, and effectively let Carlton off the hook kept them in touch, when we badly needed to apply scoreboard pressure.

I was cursing Buckley badly for most of the game regarding selection; we all knew Cameron was an error, at the expense of Ruscoe.

And can we stop the Mayne bashing; it is getting old fast. The bloke busts his gut for us every week, and paid a hefty price today. Hope he recovers for next week.

The backline was magnificent in the second half, and very serviceable in the first; Moore and JR swallowing a lot of ball, IQ earning his spot, Maynard going about his business, Crisp never stops trying, and Noble played his best game for us yet IMO.

Whilst the Browns' contested valiantly, they still missed many targets by hand, but the effort is there, so the wheel keeps turning.

Stevo is looking like a player who's low on confidence , but hopefully a couple of goals today might help him believe in himself again.

Actually, I thought it was a strange first half in that the forward line seemed to be performing better than the backline, which is most unusual Thankfully, the backs righted themselves in the second half and transition through the middle slowed down a little, thereby becoming more accurate and not allowing Carlton to get their hands on it. It helped that young Daics found heaps of space on the wing too. Well done!

Sadly, I don't see what others see in the Brown boys - they just don't seem to be up to senior standard at this point in time. Too much fumbling and missed tackles.

As for Bruce, he obviously wanted the Blues to win, so I turned him off after quarter time. Much more enjoyable watching.

Special mention to Miochek. For anyone who has copped a huge hit and then come back and continue to attack every contest like he always does, is very courageous. Hitting packs like he does isn’t for everyone.
He’s a great pick up and would be even better if we had some KPF quality around him.

Excellent points!! Loved Billy's game today - he threw himself into every possible contest and more often than not came out with the ball.
It was a great return from IQ. Coming off such a nasty injury, he attacked the game strongly and yes, then ran with it truly, quickly and straight forward!!!
Gee Darcy was superb in the last quarter. It would've been mind-blowing if he managed to kick that goal when he blasted forward through a few Carlton players!!

The most satisfying win against Carlton since Mick coached them. The unfounded arrogance blowing up in their supporters faces is a sight to behold.

For all the talk of not playing well recently, we've been able to still win enough games to keep us firmly in the top eight. If we get a few more players back and finally have a decent injury run, we could go further than most expect us.

Adams was excellent. Clearly our next captain in waiting once Pendles relinquishes it. Daicos is coming of age and getting better with each passing game. Moore was excellent with several intercept marks and even Elliott played well today.

Our forward structure is still dysfunctional, but at least we started hitting the scoreboard in the final quarter. Cox has been reasonable since his return, though he does his best work when he drops the ball front and centre for someone like Thomas to crumb and kick goals. Cameron doesn't stay in the team after today's performance. Mihocek and Stephenson are crucial for us.

Fantastic to finally equal the head to record after nearly 40 years. Hopefully we can surpass them next year
