It's worth watching. It's only the second film of his I've liked. The other was Punch Drunk Love.David wrote:I still haven't seen it! But you've sold me on that detail alone.Sicks Bux wrote:Furbicide, huh? Were you bothered by the bedazzled Furbies in the film Uncut Gems?David wrote:Yep, though I have to admit I haven't written on it much since spending about a month on there reviewing every film I watched a couple of years back. I do find it a great resource, though, and often consult it for discussion on films I'm thinking of watching (it's way better than the often comically idiotic reviews on IMDb, that's for sure).

Always a shame when someone goes that early.

the remake isnt bad either - but that could be the rock!!roar wrote:Watched The Longest Yard (also known as The Mean Machine) yesterday. Of course, I had seen it over 30 years ago but I thought my eldest would enjoy it and I was right. I had forgotten a fair bit, too, so it was good to see it again. Now I need to find Slap Shot.

The last few for me:
The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - You cant go wrong with this movie. I remember a poster a while ago saying it was an overrated movie, but it really is a dead set classic. Saw the stage version in England a few years back.
Green Book (2018) - First time watching. It was very good. But after the movie it's always a little disappointing to research and see that many people criticise the accuracy of the film.
Blinded by the Light (2019) - I was surprised to see that this film is based on the area I lived in in England. I didnt live right in Luton, but I was close to that area. As a Springsteen fan, the soundtrack was enjoyable. It's a bit Bend-It-Like-Beckham as far as the story goes, but still a good film.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) - Gee whiz, I haven't seen this since it first came out. We just chucked it on for a laugh. It's amazing how dumb teenagers are in these films.

Nope, only Bruce beats the rock!roar wrote:Yet to come across a modern day remake I like. I'm probably not a good judge because I see men as more or less the same, but isn't Burt better than the Rock?
Shawshank redemption is one of the all time great, and green book was really good.

Hubby decided to watch the Helen Reddy movie instead of the news, was a bi5 slow at first, but wow, so worth watching. I mean I’ve done the I Am Woman dance at parties with a million other females, doing housework, crying in the shower, you name it! But I didn’t realize the significance of it, just a really powerful story, that had hubby needing a tissue and me needing the box of em, I highly recommend it!
