Sadly i concur, they have nearly a full list, to choose from, unlike us, and the buggers are full of confidence, unlike us. Not this year, just cant see it now.

No issues with him returning to Melbourne.
Yes... but Leigh Matthews ordered his players not to put themselves in this position. (David would be outraged, but that's how premierships are won.)

A mate of mine reckons the club should've shown Steele <snip>

Of course I told him that was a profoundly offensive thing to say.

Unfortunately you maybe right Dave but I fervently hope you are wrong.

I am reasonably sanguine about 2020 Collingwood but I do think the recent contrived draw has made the team look much worse than they are. Although Carlton will have the benefit (yet again) of a huge rest advantage (they played last night and we don't play until Monday), at least we have a day turnaround, instead of 4, before that game. I don't think it's any coincidence that Gold Coast were scoreless at 1/4 time off a 4-day turnaround last night. We'll know a bit more about how Collingwood is travelling when they play North, a bit more rested than during that ridiculous period of short breaks and repeated cross-country travel.

Sounds like he made the right call. Life comes first.

Exactly. Channel seven last night making it sound like something horrific has happened and then they say "SIDEBOTTOM LEAVING THE HUB..... to be with his wife who is due to give birth".

I'm just sick of it. They tease it like he's broken the law or something. If it was any other player from any other team, the story would be treated differently. The player would be deemed some kind of hero and Jaqui Felgate would be saying how sweet that player is.

Instead it's "Collingwood finals in doubt with breaking news".

Imagine, just imagine, if it was Tom Hawkins and his mrs... They'd be a full segment on it with Chris Scott saying how the boys admire and respect the great man and how they have been inspired and motivated by his decision and how they will be determined to win for him. It's be filled with praise.
