Why isn't the BLET on the menu? Bacon, lettuce, egg and tomato.

Most brunch or sandwich places do a BLT, Bacon Lettuce Tomato, and they do a bacon and egg sandwich, but not the combine.

I nearly short circuited a waiters brain this morning when I ordered one. I said, I want a BLT with egg, or a bacon and egg sandwich with lettuce and tomato, whichever works best for you.

His expression was priceless as he had to struggle through the "computer says NO" phase. Then, watching him flick back and forward through the menu trying to figure out how much to charge me was nearly as good.

The end result I must confess was very tasty.

Went to the physio today. Feet have been good despite me being very slack on the exercises I was supposed to be doing.

She asked some questions then said she wanted to try something, down the outside of my right calf.

Apparently the muscle there, the peri something, is like a nerve conductor from the lower back. I thought "whatever" until she started work. FMD. That fkn hurt.

OK, so I have tight calf muscles but fkn wow.

By the time she finished then got me to do some exercises on the pilates machine that I could do at home on mine, I was walking like a sailor who'd spent the past 4 hours bent over the bench, jelly legged and arse cheeks clenched.

Back to what's odd. It's not really "odd", but it's not a WTF, just observing human behaviour.

I'm working near the corner of Elizabeth and Franklin in the city. Going out for a smoke, I could stand there and watch that intersection for hours, it has all the ingredients you need for a seriously chaotic ballet.

You have trams and hook turns. Combine that with pedestrians engrossed in staring at their phones, cars, cyclists, motorbikes and then the kicker, food delivery punters on mopeds and battery powered bicycles who shatter road rules by switching between cyclist, pedestrian and car seemingly 3-4 times in the space of seconds.

That's without even factoring in the homeless frequently having meltdowns on street corners.

One day there's going to be a collision in the middle of the intersection and, once the domino effect kicks in, it's going to be carnage

Dunno if this is odd or just slightly jarring as in something in this picture is NQR.

Heading into Melbourne Central Elizabeth St entrance, there's a homeless bloke with a dog who's there most afternoons, sitting down with his sign and cap while 2 metres away there's 2 people trying to hand out some discount vouchers for Uber Eats to commuters.

Non Sequiter or incongruous ?

Don't venture into the city often but when I do and see homeless folks with companion animal mostly dogs - always go and buy both human and canine some food - have never had abuse or demands for money instead.

Potentially one for Morrigu or WPT.

Went to the pharmacy today to top up on prescription tabs. A youngish bloke was in the counter queue, say late teens early 20's.
He was 5'10 or 11, slim build with collar length sandy hair, a cap, with a skateboard and shopping bag, and what caught my eye was what looked like parallel scratch or cut marks across one inside forearm.

Anyway, he got to the counter where you hand in prescriptions and asked for something, I didn't catch what, wasn't really paying attention. Then, as the person was going to the shelves where the prescription meds are, he called out to them "the big bottle" which attracted the attention of another staff member who said to the person on the shelves "He got some yesterday"

Some of what?

Guy wasn't happy but wasn't agressive about it, he tried arguing that it wasn't him, must have been someone who looked like him, which flew like a cast iron hang glider, so he turned and shuffled out of the pharmacy with his head down mumbling to himself that he wasn't in yesterday.

I'm assuming there's some illicit drug thing happening here but have NFI what was going on. Anyone got any guesses from the description.

Because of the bushfires, you can get one month's worth of your regular medication without a script. Wonder if he is a repeat customer trying to get multiple lots of oxy or the like?

https://www.health.gov.au/ministers/the ... 9-pandemic

Emergency measures to allow continued access to essential medicines through the PBS will be extended to 30 June 2020.

These temporary “continued dispensing” arrangements allow people to obtain their usual medicines at PBS prices, even if they cannot get a new prescription from their doctor.

Under strict conditions, pharmacists will be able to give patients up to one month’s supply of their usual medicine without a script, at the usual PBS consumer co-payment.

The patient must previously have been prescribed the medicine and the pharmacist must be satisfied it is urgently needed.

These measures were originally put in place in January in response to the widespread bushfires and were due to end on 31 March 2020, however will be extended following consultation with doctors and the community pharmacy sector.

So, as of now I'm unemployed. Fixed term contract with RMIT expired and due to Covid, wasn't renewed despite a couple of colleagues pushing hard on my behalf, without me asking them.

I drove into the CBD today to drop off my laptop and phone etc and collect my personal stuff. Very surreal experience. City was busier than I expected but nothing like it used to be, 75% of the people I saw were tradies or construction workers.

Went to the security building first, temperature test and a yellow arm band then off to the security office. Check the paperwork, take my photo ID/access card and get a security escort 25 metres across Bowen St to hand in my stuff to IT.

Then off to the office, no escort. Building is a construction site. One of our program office had alerted building security I was coming but they weren't there. My building swipe card worked on the lifts to get me up to my floor but wouldn't let me in so I had to go back and find security to let me in.

Surreal. Floor of an office building that takes over 100 people, empty. It was like one of those disaster movies where people suddenly vanish without having a chance to clean up, I was half expecting to see a bowl of porridge with steam coming off it. It was so like, where did the people go?

Had virtual farewell drinks late arvo with more people than I expected. I was really surprised I got a tad emotional, there's some really good people working there and I met a lot of them. Yeah there's a few fkn cnuts but they're in every business and far in the minority here.

Enjoyed the time there, glad it's finished but sad it's finished. I'm becoming female :?

Anyway, onward and upward. The tip is open so that's tomorrow morning.
