foxsports.com.au:
Grundy today set another record, becoming the first player in VFL/AFL history to have 25 or more disposals, 50 or more hitouts and kick two or more goals in a game.
He's pretty good, isn't he! :D

If the objective was to win with minimal effort then well done, achieved. Nothing to see here. Nothing to get excited about. Just a win, nothing more.

As he said Grundy better in 2nd half but the guy got the Sutton -Rose medal
This was spot on. Grundy was just going in the first half, but after half time, not sure if he sculled a barrel of red bull but he was unstoppable and everywhere.
Get back on top.

Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I wonder if Bucks failure to acknowledge Grundy as (even one of) the best on the ground - which clearly he was - has anything to do with his contract negotiations? Bucks might be getting pissed off at BG, if he senses the guy is considering pulling up stumps and returning to Adelaide. I'm probably way off the mark here, but there was certainly something strange about Buck's public criticism of Grundy imo. After all, he could simply have said that Grundy was absolutely brilliant in the 2nd half, and the main reason we won the game, after he had been fairly average in the first half.

You’d hope the Coach is a bit more professional than that - there’s a premiership to be decided in 2019, whatever happens in the off-season.

He was just saying what he thought. Probably not as circumspect as usual because he was not happy.

He’s obviously getting close to the end but there is one thing he can do that no one else in that team has a single clue about - being front and centre in a marking contest. His positioning continues to be brilliant.
It's such a fundamental skill isn't it. Hope we keep him on as a specialist in this respect when his playing days are over.
The fact that we have a marking target like Cox in the team and only Trav seems to be able to do this staggers me.

It doesn't matter how you win, just win.

Most teams will play their best game of the year against us. The Bulldogs will be nowhere near the finals and yet they played well enough to get very close to winning.

Lots of factors are play as to our efforts, but as I said, it doesn't matter. We won. 2nd on the ladder. Just win enough games to be in top 4 come finals and you've got as good a chance as any.

We're on track.

We won so good result.

Something about the dogs game style that we struggle with is the speed, across the ground and the speed of their disposals.

Since 2016 (their premiership year) we have played them 6 times (3 wins each) and 4 of those games were decided by 15 points or less.

Biggest winning margins were: Pies 35 points (R10 2018) & WBD 21 points (R10 2016)

So we don't seem to have the ability to smash the dogs whether their form or ours is good or not, and I wouldn't say our form this year has been outstanding, we have been getting the job done for the most part, and that's what we did yesterday.
In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

Mark Stevens @Stevo7AFL

Jeremy Howe relieved post calf scan. Could’ve been a lot worse ... lower end, maybe 2, 3 at worst you’d think.

Thank god for that. Get well soon, Jeremy!
