Really happy with this pick-up. Validates our whole trade of Beams for 18.
Going two spots early was a concern only IF Kelly went in the first round.
I think we are ok now with Kelly going anywhere in the next ten picks ( hopefully later) from a points and def pov.

Really excited by this trade / draft period.......

Its a bit of an odd position we are in for that small defender - our backline seems all medium tall without being tall (our talls being injured) and its gotten us into a GF. Bringing in Moore or Roughead will change our backline and our game - I think IQ and true small defender makes us better but it may take a while for the team to adjust - even with just Moore or Roughead coming in its going to be an adjustment period. With some early tough games on our card we might drop a few before we find our feet again.

We were doing ok with Murray and from all reports he is a better kick - and as I said I think he will have Murray beat for spacial awareness. How big a factor is leg speed? Dunno; there's no doubt Murrays speed, or for that matter Varcoes speed, was a weapon.

Looks to be an excellent accurate kick and that's something a lot of Nicks posters were concerned about with the team two seasons back.
(Amazingly, our team kicking seem to improve greatly last season, along with a lot of other attributes).

Albert. With that hair he looks like a negative of Einstein.
