We drafted a few talls last year, but apart from 1, the rest seem to be doing SFA so I'm interested in some news from VFL watchers about how they're going.
The ones I refer to are:
max lynch - 200cm, 97kg, ruckman (ex soccer player)
Mitch mcCarthy, 196cm, 95kg, key back? (ex basketballer)
Sam Mclarty, 197cm, 91kg, key back (deaf, has bionic ear and helmet)
Henry Schade 197cm, 89kg, key back
Schade is playing VFL this week but where's the rest? Are they any good or do we just like picking project KPPs? Are they all gault/Richmond?
Are any of them able to play forward, considering they all appear to be backs?

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Lynch - Very raw, more often than not beaten in the ruck, hasn't shown much when resting forward either.
McCarthy - Has played ruck and forward, with a lot of time in the former over recent rounds. Currently injured, having just had surgery to remove a bone spur, will miss the next 4-6. Like Lynch, very raw.
McClarty - Early days yet, but I reckon this one is a find. Strong overhead at full back. Reads it well and already a viable intercept asset. Deceptively strong body-on-body for his age. Speed a question mark and footskills rather hit-and-miss. Was a forward as a junior and could make the transition if required, but looks at home down back.
Schade - Has leaked goals, both to his direct opponent and on turnover, since his demotion. Should be regarded as depth.

Very rare to find a quality tall forward outside the top 15 of the draft though it remains a small possibility.
The strike rate for defenders would be better though.
A lot would have to go right for McCarthy to make it as a forward at AFL level coming from the rookie list.
Lynch was always a long shot though impossible to rate the worth of a young ruck in his first season I would have imagined.
