Hunger games movies are brilliant, Love Con Air, under seige, die hard, speed, fast and furious, xxx, that kinda thing!
-though pitch black wasn't that great!
What's the last movie you watched?

Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Honestly your taste in men TP.
Vinnie might have a good physique, I'll give him that, but he has a head like a prolapsed anus.

15 1/2 hours on a plane, (they took a baby off for some reason, and then had to unpack half the plane for their luggage, an hour delay) got a few in, including this one.swoop42 wrote:Really?David wrote:OK, lay it out for me. Is the whole thing (writing the novel, sending it to his ex and then standing her up at dinner) just an act of revenge on Edward's part? Because if so, that's just about the most ridiculous premise I've ever heard.
Did you see it coming or were you expecting happy ever after?
I think she did and so did most of audience.
Did she deserve it though?
I don't think so.
The film is about the consequences of decisions and feelings of loss by the actions of others.
Maybe I missed it but did he have himself and his ex family in the book or was that her imagination? If he had his family named as such, well I can't believe she would agree to meet with Him! Freaky movie alright! I was waiting for a screaming pig!
Watched The Patriot, fantastic movie about the Boston Marathon Bombing. Very moving. Went to Boston just for the day last year, such a beautiful grand old city, spotlessly clean. Gorgeous harbour, so much history.
Miss Sloane, a political movie about the gun lobbyists. Not bad. The others raved about it but I needed subtitles and it didn't have them.
Fences. Even Denzil couldn't save it, too much dialogue!
The latest XXX the return of Xander cage was really disappointing! Too corney.
Thought I'd iron out the kinks from the flights in the gym, watched the end of an old movie with Brad Pitt and al Pacino about a boy's home, dark stuff!
Cheers!
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!
Watched 'Michael Clayton' via SBS on Demand last night. Quite a good legal thriller- a touch above your usual Hollywood fare. The plot was a little bit cliched but has enough convolutions to keep it interesting.
Excellent performances by Tilda Swinton and Tom Wilkinson. George Clooney in the lead role is also good.

On the Thai airways night flight home saw two films:
1. Mr & Mrs Smith - Hitchcock - good but not great, one of Hitchcock's least typical films. Bouncy & a bit of fun.
2. Salesman - An Iranian film - usually I would avoid this type of film expecting some sad tale of political oppression & the treatment of Afghani's in Iran however while bleak this was a gem to watch even though it went for 2 hours.
Didn't realize till now (time of posting) that it:
a) Won an oscar and
b) Was released last year (2016)
This director is now in the company of Fellini, Bergman & De Sica having won 2 Emmy's. Absorbing & powerful & like a good book I could not not watch it once I started.
This film in my view is really worth watching

Well, kind of. But hey, at least they made the effort to try to give us something different, with an interesting twist in those final minutes [without going into spoiler details for those who intend to still watch it...]Bucks5 wrote:I have seen it and found it totally underwhelming. An hour and a half of meh followed by 10 minutes of slasher flick.
