Re Kirby, he was relatively quiet in the first quarter and a bit, but has noticably come into it, even off the ball.
His fitness is definitely improved (he has distinctly shed a fair bit off the front) and has been running out games much better.
I wouldn't expect QB would be his go, but watch out for him in the run home. At this trajectory, he will debut...

I thought Blair was playing VFL today ?Crimson Mask wrote:Blairy always manages to "run out" a whole AFL game FWIW!!Bay Pie wrote: Nice job Bat. How fit is Kirby looking ? Any chance to run out an AFL game ?
Kirby running out 3/4 of an AFL game will do me! HUUUGE TALENT!!
Edit: He is.
Crockers' in. Is Kirby likely to even run out 3/4 of an AFL game ? From what I've heard, no. Hopefully he's building that fitness base.

Correct - point being that Blairy seems to have been gifted games this season on the basis of being a great competitor who cracks in hard. The fact that he is limited, slow and rarely hits the scoreboard is routinely ignored.Bay Pie wrote: I thought Blair was playing VFL today?
There is an opportunity to debut a gifted footballer with X factor and a nose for a goal next week on a big stage. Certainly he is not fully match hardened and may not "run out" a game. But for Bucks to depart from the robotic and turn towards the instinctive may give the beleaguered supporter some hope and something to look forward to!

I'd hate to see the kid get an AFL game and then flounder due to the pace. Not being able to get near it or continually chasing his opponent could destroy his confidence.Crimson Mask wrote:Correct - point being that Blairy seems to have been gifted games this season on the basis of being a great competitor who cracks in hard. Blair seems to me, that he's on the outer. Only omission after a big win. Kirby is chasing Broomhead or Crockers spot, I would have thought. I hope he's ready. Would be a handy addition.

Kayle's doing everything right but still too early IMO to play seniors
