This old chestnut
Making Nicks great again.
Step 1.
A). We rename the "Collingwood Forums" to "Football Forums".
I think we know this is a Collingwood webpage. And the last time I did this, I was told, why would we put "other afl" under a Collingwood form, even tho we have non-Coll forums under it now.
B). GD stays where it is. But "Nicks Other AFL" comes up so theres half a chance people can see it. The VFL forum and Match Day follows.
C). We create the Player Movement forum (Or rename the old one down in archives). Now this one is debatable as its be trailed this year without a trade/draft forum and I guess it's kind of worked. I just find it easier to talk about players from other clubs in a different forum other than GD. Especially during the season when we are months away from the Trade/Draft times.
D). We create a forum for the TAC Cup, State and local leagues. Again this one is debatable, as we've never really discussed these leagues before, but I guess it'd be nice to have a place to talk about it for anyone who watches them.
This concludes part 1. Please mods do not remove this, as I've spent some time on it and I have a few more posts to add.

Step 2.
A). We take the name "Nicks Sports Bar" and use it as the heading for all the sports forums.
B). We recreate a Cricket forum. It deserves its own forum. Donny spends a lot of time posting and keeping readers up to date. I just think it should stand on its own.
C). We rename "English Premier and A-League". I know the word "Soccer" can be offensive to some. So perhaps it could be left alone, or changed to something more creative. It should invite talk about all football (soccer) leagues.
D). We create a World of Sports forum for the other global games and if at any stage something becomes to big, we can create its own forum. (This is unlikely).

Step 3.
A). We re-jig the "Other Forums". A possible renaming? I couldn't think of anything.
B). VPT and Nicks The Webpage would belong near the top. With the others in a suitable order.
C). We revive the Chicks Channel and place it here.
This concludes Step 3.

Step 4.
A). We rename "Collingwood Groups" to "Supporter Groups" (or "Collingwood Suporter Groups"). I dont think they get visited as much as the used to. I dont think the order really matters.
B). We rename a few of them if need be. (Eg. Sydney Supporters Group could be changed to the NSW Supporter Group). Make sure there is one for each state/Territory.
This winds up Step 4.

Step 5 and Step 6.
A). We put the test forum under Board Admin heading.
B). Rejig the Archives and spend a moment remembering the old Willy alignment.
This concludes all the steps to "making Nicks great again", becoming more user friendly and promoting more activity in the other forums.
However, it is also a good idea to remove the "Nicks Gallery" and fix the Chat and Live Scoreboard.
All Forum names and particularly the descriptions are just basic suggestions of course.

Maybe the EFL and A-League board Association Football if people don't like the soccer term.
If you were to have the TAC Cup and state leagues board maybe just call it State Leagues and include TAC Cup in the description and put it as a sub forum to Nick's Other AFL.
Just a thought anyway, I am sure the mods can work it all out.

I like your ideas but I think renaming 'General Discussion' to 'Collingwood AFL Discussion' would helpful. A new separate forum for the women's competition wouldn't hurt either.
Maybe:
FOOTBALL FORUMS
- Collingwood AFL Discussion
- General AFL (Non Collingwood)
- VFL Magpies
- AFL Women's League (or just Collingwood Women AFL)
- Match
- Player Movement
- TAC Cup, State Leagues, Local Leagues

How would Siri know when to answer "Hey Siri" unless it is listening in to everything you say?

That's a great idea. I think we have all said "where's the like button" in the past. Saves all the plus one posts. And that one is surely pretty easy to code in?skaman wrote:Is it possible to have a likes/dislikes button for all replies. It would stop a lot of the "polls" and give the reader an indication how strong his/her point is, resulting in more feedback and discussion?
On the rest I love it, lot of good work, thought and effort put into it.
Tell me though, why do people get offended by the term soccer?
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!

I'd change the Women's board to allow for the Netball Team as well.Bucks5 wrote:I like your ideas but I think renaming 'General Discussion' to 'Collingwood AFL Discussion' would helpful. A new separate forum for the women's competition wouldn't hurt either.

So maybe Collingwood Women's Team & Netball or something more creative so there is dual purpose and it will allow for more traffic and use.
