Took me a while to figure out if I liked it or not, driving home in a sort of trance, like, what did I just watch? But answer is yes, I liked it. Bit gruesome in parts, but in keeping with the story, not gratuitous. Leo was very good.
Time went fast too, usually with longer movies I'm ready for them to end ages before they do, this one surprised me when it ended.
I'd give it 4 out of 5 I think.
Pretty simple story when u boil it all down but must be favourite for the Cinematography award. Just stunning and would be amazing on the big screen. Includes one of the best scenes of all time I'd suggest if u can keep your eyes open.
Amazing stuff.
8/10
I did for the scene I assume you're talking about, covered them in other parts.
I'd be interested to know the actual story, since it's based on a true story, how much is actual & how much is embellished...
Yuk, awful, hated I, too long. Yes nice scenery, but gees, a little bit of good stuff would be nice! I watched because it's his long awaited Oscar movie, really??? After such gems as catch me if you can, the aviator, blood diamond, the wolf of Wall Street, hell even titanic or the beach!
3 hours I won't get back!
You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either!
Went looking for train wreck today, couldn't find it so bought Tammy, Mothers Day and season three of under the dome (that ones for treadmill/cross trainer time!)
Been a loooonnng borrrring paperwork week, Poured myself a red, junior made me popcorn, ran a piping hot bath, turned up the jets and laid back and watched Tammy! I know not many like Melissa Macartney but I don't mind her (love heat with Sandra Bullock!). And it's got Dan Ackaroyd, the brilliant Susan Sarendon and Cathy Bates, and a really nice easy to watch feel good story. Really enjoyed it!
And Her daddy is right, Niagara Falls really is one of the closet things to heaven on earth!
Cheers

Hehe 100 miles or so down the road- the Grand Canyon! Yes please! If we really do go in November for the car show, I'm leaving hubby to it and going water rafting through the canyon!

Oh Jo, the other week I watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show on DVD for the first time this century! The movie holds up well, all things considered.
And Susan Sarandon was just f*cking stunning in her prime.

She's one hell of an actor
Is that to say you haven't seen it before, made in 1975?
Remember it's a musical comedy, not exactly Dead Man Walking!
No I haven't seen it! I keep meaning too! Had tickets to the show years and years ago, but I had a fight with my boyfriend that day and we sit up! So he took his mate! I'm not a real Musical movi person, but I love mama Mia! Dead man walking is really well done, but she will always be Lousie to me!

Nah I thought he was perteeee, but I'm more of a John Mclane girl myself! I prefer Angelins in that marriage!
Thelma and Louise had balls! I like ballsy women!

It seems that the remake of Ben Hur has gone down the cinematic toilet, and has joined Xanadu, Heavens Gate and Cleopatra as cinema that cost a lot to make but nobody wants to watch...
Hollywood at the moment seems to be remaking the classics, but I wouldn't so much watch a chariot race I've already seen, as wonder what happened next?
Everything from Shrek to Star Wars has a sequel, so how about the classics?
Scenario one: Ben helps his friends get out of Jerusalem before the Romans destroy it. He then helps St Peter stop Nero from killing the Christians, although I believe it's already been done...
Scenario 2. Rhett Butler turns up at Tara years later, and shows Scarlett that he really does give a damn...
Scenario 3. Rick turns up in Prague 28 years later, and saves Laslo, Elsa and Dubcek from the Bolshies...
Scenario 4. There is a a ton of fan fiction about Pride and Prejudice, with all sorts of stories from thievery by Mr Wickham and domestic violence from Mr Collins. What did happen at Pemberley?
Scenario 5. Fortinbras rules Denmark with Horatio as chief advisor. Nothing much happens...
Scenario 6. Laurie Holden realises he can't coach after all. Rostoff takes over and coaches Collingwood to two premierships before the place sends him mental...
