Not sure if I'll be seeing this in the cinema. I know it won't be shown at the Melbourne Cinematheque but this clip of " Grimsby" or as it's known in the US "The Brothers Grimsby" by Sasha Baron-Cohen had me laughing & we don't get to see the clip at all!!

Not sure where to put this, here will do.
Just watched the trailer for the new Ghostbusters movie. Ghostbusters was my ALL TIME favourite movie, I've seen it so many times and have waited for a long time for a decent new movie. When this was announced I was skeptical but hopeful. Ok, they've shoehorned in the all female cast, whatever, it might still be alright... denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
Now the trailer has dropped and I'm just appalled. Ghostbusters is at its heart a comedy, and trailers usually show some of the best jokes in a comedy movie. This trailer had me staring in open mouthed horror at the complete lack of anything approaching 'funny'. The trailer is cut like this is an action movie, only there isn't anything approaching action shown. I'm just.. appalled. Usually when my childhood loves are ruined the movie is at least somewhat forgettable or mildly entertaining (New Robocop/terminator/Die Hard movies), but this looks like being an absolute travesty.
**** whoever greenlighted this movie. **** the director, the Screenwriter and anyone else involved.
Oh, and here's the trailer.

Yes, I'm mad.
(in b4 sexist, I really don't mind an all female cast if they had to be Hollywood Liberal pandering douches, but this is the most horribly miscast mess I've ever seen).
This guy's reaction is pretty much the same as mine was.

Trailers are usually a pretty poor reflection on a film's quality, I find. Of course, it wouldn't be like Hollywood to take a popular cult film and committee all the fun and originality out of it...

Is Hollywood running out of ideas?
There was a Point Break remake last year for Christ sake.
POINT. F*&#ING. BREAK.
Most of them are not wanted, warranted or needed.

Oh God, that looks terrible! Don't get it. And, I'm loathe to every say anyone is 'better than' something, but I really thought (whichever one it is) Hemsworth was better than that. WTF is he doing there? The token male?
Urghh. Definitely not on my watch list, not even if it's on free to air one day (probably be one day soon!).

It's not a movie, and I've mentioned it before, but Happy Valley is one of the Beloved One's favourite TV series, and it's really growing on me.
Gotta' love the Yorkshire accent, especially given the old fella was a Yorkshireman
I thought it was a bit weak at the beginning because the first crime and cons were weak, but once it moves beyond that first crime or two, it gets much better. Some very interesting characters, and surely a big step forward in leading roles for women.
One of those shows which is getting better each episode.

In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Brat pack, coming of age, 80s.
Nostalgia/10
also good brat packer movies "16 candles" "pretty in pink"
my favorite from that era is very corny, but good fun "a night on the town" alternate title "adventures in babysitting" used to watch it with my kids in their early teens,
and now its being remade, hmmm

Had a look at the remake of The Punisher the other night.
Not bad. John Travolta plays a suitably psycho villain, loved the scene where he dropped his wife off a bridge onto train tracks right as a train was coming then said to his son later, when asked where mum was " she's gone away, caught a train".
