So, tell all! Did you enjoy it? Any plans to go shopping for leather and whips*? ;)

* I heard Phillip Ruddock might be going cheap...

Yeah it wasn't bad! But the guy playing Christian grey was disappointing, not good looking enough and no ABS!

Not what I expected (haven't read the books) I have a whip - my old riding crop anyway!

Bit strange watching it in a theatre! But it was pretty much all ladies!

Good night out!

So I'm a little late to the party, but I just finished watching theHarry Potter series! I watched the first one and half the second when they came out, wasn't that wrapped. Was bored on the tready, and gave it another go. Well, apart from the second last one, thoroughly enjoyed it. The last one was a superb ending to the series. Great acting throughout. And I really like Snape!

harry Potter is great. good movies, great books.

So, tonight I watched "Machete Kills" on Foxtel.

OMFG.

I don't know whether I just saw one of the best things ever and I'm not quite smart enough to grasp all the finer points, or the dumbest thing ever, or somewhere in between.

Other than cartoon violence, and lots of it, I think there was a plot. I'm sure it was in there somewhere but when you have Carlos Esteves playing the President of the USA you do need to suspend some disbelief.

Jessica Alba dies really early
Michelle Rodriguez is smoking hot (seriously)
Just when you think it's going one way it turns into Moonraker with Mel Gibson as the bad guy.
Antonio banderas makes a short cameo and gets killed.

In summary, I have NFI WTF i just watched but I loved it and would watch it again.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

If I had to choose between Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba, I'd consider myself a very very lucky boy. :P

Speaking of Alba (and just for the record we're DEFINITELY talking Jessica Alba here, not Anthony Albanese  I watched Sin City 2 last night.

Ummm. Wow. :? Very much similar to the first, shot in black and white with the little punctuations of colour here and there to make a statement, but not in the same league IMO.

The first one was a mind **** in that it was 4 separate but interconnected mini movies. This was just one and it rambled.

Still, It had Jessica Alba in it.

Image

And therefore I give it 5 stars.

:D

Office Space (1999)

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/office_space/

A Comedy about office drudgery from the creator of Beavis and Butthead. Unlike his erstwhile duo of young 90s slackers, Office Space is a subtle satire of office life and the people that inhabit it.

★★★★☆

*edit* Realised I sounded like a wanker film critic. It's also very funny. Watch it.

Citizenfour (documentary about Edward Snowden). Gripping stuff, and a really intelligent exploration of the problems with data retention and government surveillance.

I had Tony Abbott's voice in the back of my head at times during the screening: "the traitor Edward Snowden". Seriously, watch this film and see if you can be that dismissive about what he did or his motivations for doing so.

Haha, yeah, I think the director may have taken some liberties there.
