Hear hear. Unfortunately, I fear that CGI is much cheaper.

I really miss the days of stop motion, personally (think the original Clash of the Titans). No points for realism, but so much more inventive.

The Imitation Game - 4.5 stars.

Benedict Cumberbatch was great in this film, perfectly cast.

Under the Skin, a movie so bad that even naked Scarlett Johansson can't save it. It's a decent 'art' movie, but it's about as entertaining as washing burnt on eggs off your frying pan.

The intriguing premise doesn't make itself known except through bizarre, barely decipherable metaphor. The source material (A Novel of the same name) is an intriguing tale of aliens harvesting humans to send to their homeworld for meat. The kinds of moral and ethical questions this could ask of the audience are completely lost in the name of complex symbolism.

I watched the movie to the end in the hope of it making some sense, in the end it kind of did but it was a journey so torturous I'd rather have been shipped off to slaughter.

★★☆☆☆

I like the bugs in the movie Starship Troopers, because they represent an alternative form of intelligence, like me.
