Jezza wrote:I love that movie. De Niro was brilliant in that role as Max Cady. Nick Nolte played the role of Sam Bowden quite well as well but Nolte's best role was Jack Cates in 48 Hrs in my opinion.

De Niro makes this movie worth watching. I love the opening scene when he's doing the weights and the eery music already starts as he's about to be released into the community again.
I saw this movie when it first came out in a cinema. I too thought De Niro was brilliant. Then, a couple of years later I saw the original 1962 version on late night TV and I realised how much De Niro had borrowed from the even more brilliant Robert Mitchum.

If you like a scare then I highly recommend "The Conjuring".

The woman in black is also very good for raising the goose bumps.

Been watching a few films over the last few days when I get done with work stuff, watched 'This Is The End' with Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, etc. Wasn't a bad movie really.

Finally got around to watching The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 as well, liked them both. I had expected to hear Danny Glover say "I'm getting to old for this shit."

Mhmm been looking at the conjouring, it only came out last week, never heard of it, but it's selling like hot cakes, apparently based on a true story.

I don't really like scary movies anymore, I watched the DeNiro one because I remembered how good it was. I nearly jumped out the bedroom window, because hubby said boo behind me at one point. Morgan freeman might not be, but I'm too old for it!

Day after tomorrow and 2012, not bad, some really good special effects. But Would be nice to see a futuristic movie that doesn't end quite so badly for is!

(Having said that, I read the last hunger games book in the bath the other night, nearly 400 pages, couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the movies!)

I don't know if anyone here watches silent films, but I recently watched a couple of classic American films from the late '20s: The Crowd (on videotape!) and Sunrise. Both quite beautiful and unique in their way, but the latter was a little more formulaic (not to mention featuring a near trope-defining Madonna/whore dichotomy). The Crowd hasn't aged at all, though.

The taking of Beverly Hills! I cleaned out the movie room, and changed things up with some new cabinets, found this movie on an old video, in the back of a cupboard! Walhl, is the lead actor, with the mullet of the century. I liked it good old fashion smash em up flame throwing movie.

And woman's shoulder pads bigger than gridiron jumpers!
