Watched Moneyball tonight. Not bad.

I'm going to have to read the book now to understand how it works.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

I watched that awhile ago on Austar, still one of my favourites, Travola and Cage worked pretty decent together. On before it was Con Air, love that one.

I just got done watching Return to Oz, the 1985 "unofficial sequel" the Wizard of Oz. It seemed much better than I had remembered it, though the last time I watched the movie I was 8.

Watching Eight Men Out now. May have to find out when it's back on and watch it in full.
It's one of my favourites. Travolta and Cage are both awesome in being able to play the hero and villain and then reversing roles.

The scene when Castor Troy (Cage) wakes up still freaks me out sometimes. I love the scene when they encounter each other for the first time after they've switched faces. The horrifying look on Sean Archer's face is priceless.

So many memorable scenes.

Con Air was another great Nicholas Cage movie along with The Rock.

Anyone going to this year's Melbourne International Film Festival? WPT? Pies4Shaw?

Tannin? ;)

I just booked 20 tickets in about 15 minutes this morning, and I'm not sure if I'm done yet!

Ruch Hour 2.

I a surprised it was overlooked for Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. I guess that's the price for not hiring Jewish actors in Hollywood.

Perhaps, but primarily the price for making a shithouse (or, let's be honest, insufficiently sentimental) film.

I think a John Safran clip applies here:

Watched "Where the Wild Things Are" the other night.
Absolutly loved it. I was wondering how they would flesh out the story and trhey did it beautifully, turning a short picture book into a story about a wild child growing up, by shouldering the responsibilty for a bunch of very troubled monsters, including himself.
4 stars.
