A mad scientist kidnaps and mutilates a trio of tourists in order to reassemble them into a new "pet"-- a human centipede, created by stitching their mouths to each others' rectums.

Well my kids watched it and said that I should check it out. Doesn't say much for them or maybe the way I bought them up.
I've recently taped Polanski's "The Tenant" which I saw years ago I think when Valhalla was in Victoria Street Richmond - was on SBS recently - I loved it then. Makes a good film does our Roman - not too sure about his sexual mores but thats another matter.

I think it's just the hype. Most people watched it on the grounds that it was the 'sickest movie of all time' or some such. By all accounts it was really woeful and relatively tame given the subject matter.
Otherwise, I'm not sure what leads people to seek out films like this. My housemate watches every horror film he can get his hands on, and seems to employ a reasonable rationale (something about escaping desensitisation), but I struggle to see the appeal. It bothers me that so many teenagers watch and enjoy films like Saw and Hostel, although that's probably more symptom of societal ills than cause.
